Much needed reread

This was slow to start for me, but not terrible and it’s actually so nice here.

Dear Rachel Gillig, why?

I did not expect to be so invested in this. Especially from the blurb. But wow

Skipped Hothouse Flower now we’re here. Kind of a big time jump and I know I missed out on life altering events, but it’s probably for the best.

I’m mostly confused about the riot in Paris and missing everything Daisy has been through. It still works though.

Am I really enjoying a contemporary romance without a lick of fantasy rn? Even with the V-card trope!? I think so, yes. WHAT is happening

Okay I’m STILL not fully convinced there’s not some Tamlin nonsense looming

Rhysand is that you? Or is the Raina doomed?

I’m not sure how I’m feeling about being in the woods for so damn long, the characters, or the potential directions for this plot, but I am becoming increasingly suspicious that Alexus and his King are some Tamlin/Lucian thing waiting to happen.

This is delightful so far!

Off to a promising start with cozy vibes and little mysteries. There’s a great amount of banter and character descriptions.

I’m so in love with this world. It’s so nice that the Ashowan family and Kraken are still involved in it as well!

So many things are afoot. Wow I’m in love with the world and characters in this novel! Reading this makes the entire first book feel like it was a lovely prologue to the stories to come. I’m excited to see where it goes and if we’ll return to the more cozy and relaxed setting of The House Witch 1.
