I'm assuming the Amazons aren't going to appear at all in this, although they get mentioned a few times. This is definitely the most peril that has been shown yet in the book series. I think it will be Roger that goes overboard in the next chapter.

I'm enjoying the first person narrative from the (fictional) editor. Makes this unlike any other books, though I think Anthony Horowitz should write the first eight Atticus Pund novels!

This appears to be a "book within a book". Most likely the woman who died was pushed rather than having fallen by accident (just going by the title).

This is a really hard book - and because of one of the recent Family Guy episodes, I'm just imagining that Jay Gatsby is Brian the dog!

It does look like she killed the mother and took the baby; this being a Linwood Barclay novel, it's probably not that straightforward.

I can't see things improving between Howard and Kiki.

The first two stories were a little difficult, but I loved the gothic gruesomeness of the third. I can't remember, but the fourth story sounds like it should lead straight into the next, "Into the Maelstrom".

My suspicion is that this won't have any of the original characters in - wanting to see more of Dick and Dorothea was evidently a case of "be careful what you wish for". Not brilliant so far, and I do miss characters like Roger.

The story is now all about the trial; I can't wait to see hw it all ends up.
