The flashback seems quite long - getting into this though.

It does feel like a montage of parallel universes at the moment - is it running out of steam?

I was right about a few things - though this is feeling a bit cliched now.

So, the version of Jason who just showed up can't be the real one - the geisha mask guy, possibly.

The masked stranger is probably the main character - from the future. Too much of a Terminator rip-off?

What happened in Brighton has to be connected with the attack they mentioned earlier - maybe it was the same guy.

They subverted my expectation there with the whole revelation about how she really lost her memory. I still think her husband is dodgy though.

I think my theories still stand - I can't wait to find out the plot twists.

Two theories: a) Ben was the hit and run driver, b) The whole journal is a fake

I did see some of this coming a mie off - not sure where the old lady being forced into a home fits in though.

Just realised today that they did have the attack on Craig in a chapter, and I forgot about it.

Surprised that he wrote another book about promise falls, but it's a strong start.

Good so far - makes me think of Upstart Crow except with Dickens, who I just imagine as David Mitchell. Best moment: "Humbugs? Bah!"

Some of this is getting somewhat baffling, but it's well-written anyway.

I am really getting into the segments involving the Gelderkhaan. I suspect we'll see them all wiped out at the end though.

A bit weird, and it seems that her son can flit back and forth in time. The ancient race makes me think of the Beklan empire from Shardik.

It seems the Fisherman is exactly who or what it was suggested he was some time ago; I was expexcting more of a surprise. The bit with stalking Henry is exciting though.

Right they start to suspect Burny. I think he's too much of an obvious villain but I'll see where it all goes. Loving the Poe allusions.

I am fairly certain the man they caught won't be the Fisherman.

Getting into this now. I thought Burny had died at one point; I must have not understood what was happening.

Very unusual how the narrative gives you the sense of being led around the scenery, so to speak.

Feels a bit similar to Stonemouth by Iain Banks so far. Has Begbie really reformed? Probably not completely.
