Pretty convenient that the young male character has a difficult time expressing his emotions because he's a frostblood and they apparently quite literally might have a layer of ice that causes some sort of emotional block or something which may actually cause him pain. Yeah, I don't really understand it yet but it's a pretty convenient way of making him into one of those strong, emotionless, alpha male types.

I think my least favorite type of info-dump is the "let me tell you a story" type that conveniently covers everything the MC needs to know.

I think I'm finally starting to not hate both of these characters. The beginning was a little rough (and childish) for me.

I find it really hard to believe that a 16 year old can go through a procedure like this and the doctors would be fine without informing the parents about the procedure themselves or the medication changes afterwards or his progression after the surgeries. And the parents, one who happens to be a doctor, finding this kind of behavior completely acceptable.

"I've had girlfriends before, and it was cool and everything, but it brings all kinds of drama. And I've got plenty of drama to deal with already, thank you very much." <----= UGH

I'm not loving Will but I'm highly intrigued by his story and perspective. I am also very much enjoying the scenes with his new friends.

You know when you're watching a movie and everything is going along really well and the story is flowing then all of a sudden something happens and you're like, "Yeah, but they'd never do that." And then that's all you can think about? That's this part right now. Those characters would never do that. And I know they need to for the story to go the way it will but it's just a distracting, not at all believable move.

You guys remember that scene from Dawson's Creek where Pacey tells Joey that he remembers about her mom's bracelet and she says, "How do you know?" and he says, "Because you told me..." and she says, "You remember that?" And he says, "I remember everything."? It's in here, too. Really. Almost word for word and I don't know what to think about that.
Um....otherwise I'm enjoying it.

Really enjoying this but it's starting to feel just a little long.

I love that my daughter is loving this and I love the stories from Jane's life but man, the writing in this is very choppy. I don't read many autobiographies and this one isn't going to change my mind on that. But I'm enjoying it because my daughter is and I really can't ask for more than that.

Reading this with my daughter because she loves animals and real stories and wants to be a scientist. It seemed like a good fit and so far we're both enjoying it!
