Okay I get the sci-fi aspect and it’s not from the futuristic chips that can be inserted in the brain to augment personalities. It is that the author made her protagonist a savant, which is very easy to write about, pretty much the equivalent to a sorcerer or a Jedi in fiction. I am disappointed and wish the story wouldn’t have taken this path. It’s still interesting enough to finish.

Suspenseful and well written. This is hard to put down.

If Flowers for Algernon was a record and you played it backwards, odds are you’d hear this book. Enjoying the plot line about the protection of neurodivergents in the workplace. By enjoying, I mean its angering and is a little real for a book of the sci-fi genre.
