So far, adult coloring book is very stressful.

Slow reading with all the grading. :(

Such a weird little book! I'm always amazed that the humor in other cultures differs from that in the U.S.. I shouldn't be, but I am.

Always amazed when I read a review on Goodreads that says scolds the author with something akin to, "You should have told me I'd be offended before I read!"

While I got into the rhythm of these children narrators, the three-year-old girl started to wear on me. She's both philosophical and doesn't know what a map is called. I want to know what happens to the family, but my brain got tired from following the girl's word logic. I absolutely adore and highly recommend Kimball's other works without any reservation.

God, it breaks my heart every time I read "1965" and Malcolm knows he's going to be killed--and then he is.

*UPDATE: Last night, my husband was all sloppy/goofy because he has a cold, and for some reason he asked when they were going to make The Tide King into a movie. Awww :)

Dunbar's poems make me LOL (literally) with unsurprising regularity.

So far, I'm on the fence!

I quit. I feel like this book is a bit lazy. The main character keeps having adventures that are poorly described events that happen in other stories, most notably The Odyssey. Also, the tone changes from epic story to "bro culture" when one character calls another a pussy.

I'm going to finish this book tonight if it kills me! Or if all the kids get killed first! Or whatever!
