Guessing chapter 45 and 46 are the turning point in this part, because of the reveals. Yes, the characters do have reasons for their behaviour, but I just hate them so much more. This is like taking every hopeful part out of "Grave of the Fireflies" and submitting that, it wouldn't hit as hard.
And does nobody sleep in this world?? It's like one consecutive day.
Still well written. Don't know what to rate it yet

- Luc appears so little in this book at this point, that he really is more of a concept than a person. With HP it made sense, he was the protagonist for 7 books so we already knew him, he saved Hermione again and again. Nothing Luc did justifies the complete devotion Helena has to him and while I get that she isn't in a good state of mind right now, she doesn't waver one bit in that belief. He's not a holy baby.

- I think SenLinYu is really good with slow-burn btw, wish she would write a truly original (marketing-wise absolutely untethered to HP) book after this. But I guess she's just going to release her other Dramione fanfics with the names changed instead, because easy money for the publisher.

- Discourse around this book is extremely toxic. Not really looking forward to the review since apparently it's okay to call reviewers names for not getting the "brilliance" of this book sheesh
- this is a 1000+ pages book with almost no pleasant side characters. I currently have 1 (Matron Pace)

- Going to continue with the audiobook, hopefully listening to this will help me finish it. Really the biggest problem so far is the slooow beginnning, depresso vibe and boring dialogues

- ?? this is the strangest monastery I've ever read about, even in fantasy stories: The women are the meanest bunch, especially H who is so evil she reads Bri's diary aloud, mocking her AFTER getting saved from certain death. Now she's lusting after the shitty LI who I already have low respect for after the last book
- It looks like nobody except Bri believes in this god and adheres to his rules. Not even the headnun

- I have 0 tolerance anymore for this character. It's like dragging a toddler along on a lifetime hike, only that a toddler would have more respect for others. Basically the sister character of the last book but dialed up to 11

- we have spent more time with Harper now than with the LI
- Harper scenes are truely unbearable "your mother never loved you" type shit
- Lots of hate for the actual villain in this, which isn't the flower god

- this was so meh so far, that you can not IMAGINE my face when it got revealed that it would be a TRILOGY and not a duology, as advertised. And apparently this was planned since the beginning so lying to us about its length was part of that plan, just great
