Go Ask Jordan, I Think She'll Know is 55% done with The Colossus and Other Poems

Gut-wrenching with some hidden beauty. Mostly gut-wrenching though. Working through it slowly. Indeed this is one I might read a few times through. I'm telling you now I'm giving this nothing other than 5 stars.

Ok. I see it more now. I'm sure there's going to be more twists and surprises but I'm settling into the gist of this novel. It reminds me of the depravity of Ballard's High-Rise which was ultimately too much for me (I loved it for the most part but there was one scene that left me disturbed for personal reasons); however, I like this style better and I think I will enjoy this book considerably more.

Already there are disparate elements to this work. I like it. I haven't quite put the puzzle pieces together but I'm only 11% through! So far i I'm happy with it- mind you, I've only spent about 20 minutes with this at the moment of writing this progress update.

Again, this is developing beautifully. This is some of the finest prose I've read in a long time-by which I mean this fella can write. A treat to read. I'm not entirely sure where the narrative is going, but the character development is flawless so far.

Go Ask Jordan, I Think She'll Know is 20% done with The Great Man Theory

I found this author who seemed truly intriguing, at random, and I added him and he reciprocated. (Thanks Teddy Wayne, if you happen to see this)

In prose this could be the most brilliant book I have read all year. Wayne is a master with an enviable command of the English language. This is the kind of novel I savor. Beautiful words, even 1/5 in it's so poignant. I'm dying to get my hands on more of his work.

Go Ask Jordan, I Think She'll Know is 17% done with All the Pretty Horses (The Border Trilogy, #1)

I don't care for Westerns; however, there are two authors generally compared to my beloved Hemingway. It's Kerouac and McCarthy.

Kerouac's On the Road particularly changed my life during a hard time. I brought my beautiful volume outside and I was enthralled.

This novel is already blunt, brutal, and the prose is insane. Hemingway it's not, but it's some strange derivative indeed. I see the comparison.
