Hol-li-shit. I knew Danielewski was good, but the eBook format...I can't words about it. Imagine what he did with House of Leaves and then imagin Ehat he could do with animation and sound. Now imagine that none of it is overblown, but instead a perfect mix of media. This is the future of publishing and the "book" format.

Just as delightful as I remember. The last time I read this book, I was just starting high school, and damn if I can't see how it influenced both my sense of humor and my own personal narrative flourishes.

I feel like its time to reread this one. It's been more years than I can remember, and that's too long.

Keeping track of my page number is really futile in a Choose Your Own Adventure style book. Instead:

Wil Weaton narrating improved my opinion of the novel drastically. Overall, I enjoyed it.

They say reading outside your preferred genre is a great way to improve your own writing. Ms. Cooper's books make that an easy task. (Not that urban fantasy and steampunk are *that* far removed from the weird crap I write, but still...)
