Josh Storey is reading Elantris (Elantris, #1)
After just finishing Way of Kings and yearning for more Sanderson (but not ready to tackle another series) I decided to go with Elantris. It doesn't feel as well put together as WoK (at least, structure/prose-wise.) Lots of exposition hammers coming down. Still pretty enjoyable, however.

I'll admit, I'm reading outside my normal genre with this one, but so far I'm loving it.

First, I'm enjoying this book. It's sucked me in. However, it's heavy on the exposition hammer, and a lot of the explanation of nerd culture reads like the "What is a Role Playing Game" forwards in front of pen and paper RPG books. That said, I'm eager to see where it goes.

Loving the Canterbury Tales-like style of the book so far.

And so I continue with my addiction to James Marsters' voice and Harry Dresden's storyline.

That was some Clive Barker meets Lovecraft kind of fucked up shit right there. Brilliant!

Only thing I don't like is the way Scalzi uses dialogue to info dump. Doesn't feel natural to me. World is very interesting, though.
