I finished chapters on apples and Tulips before my loan expired.

It occurs to me that I’m not entirely enjoying this book because it’s a fantasy novel that takes place in space, when what I was expecting was a science fiction novel. There are too many details that rankle my sense of realism.

“People always lecture the poor: ‘Take responsibility for yourself! Make something of yourself!’ But with what raw materials are the poor to make something of themselves?

People love to say, ‘Give a man a fish, and he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he’ll eat for a lifetime.’ What they don’t say is, ‘And it would be nice if you gave him a fishing rod.’ “

“Cake is most definitely Hygge.” ...I don’t know why but that line just made me... 😂
