I really need to get a move on with this, I only have it for another week before it's due back at the library, and the reserve list is like 100+ long; I admit, running into aliens on page 120 kinda killed my momentum

I'm enjoying it, but there's no question that the abridged version of the story that the movie used works a lot better, things kind of go in melodramatic circles in the second half of the book and the villains get increasingly cartoonish in their evilness

So, basically the plot is the same as the film until Blood and co. leave Barbados (not Jamaica and without Honesty Nutall) then the book goes deeper into their piratical exploits and when Arabella rejoins the movie is actually a bit involving the daughter of the governor of Tortuga, whom Blood rescues from the self-same Levaseur (Basil Rathbone was such a great villain...) in the same way (pearls/duel)

Ah! The stories diverge, though I can see why, if they included all of the middle section, the movie would've been a lot longer and a lot more expensive

Apart from the setting being Barbados instead of Jamaica, I'm rather shocked how much the book is like the Errol Flynn movie (a good thing as it's one of the all-time classic swashbucklers)

ish... again, no page numbers, so I'm just eye-balling it

I'm 30ish pages in (hard to tell with Graphic Novels), but yeah... I started another book; seriously, I have no problems with Flag in Exile or 1637: The Peacock Throne, but my dithering with Crownbreaker has seemingly made it impossible for me to just read through books... apart from the Noodle Shop Mysteries :); what's really bad is that my copy of Project Hail Mary just came in; good thing I have next week off!

What can I say? It's a great series, I'm hooked. :)

Ok, so in book 1, I had the killer figured out by maybe 1/4th of the way through, but I'm 30ish pages from the end, and I'm still dithering between several options. I can't even decide for certain on the motive. It's a conundrum.
