Sweet! Finished two books today and started up another Noodle Shop Mystery (yes, I'm addicted, it's fine, probably... but how could I NOT love a protagonist who judges the quality of a Chinese restaurant based on their Mongolian Beef?)

Getting real close, and I'm going to have to admit that Andy Weir isn't going to explain how the Eridians ever figured out the existence of other stars... gah!

Can I finish it by tomorrow? Probably not, but the library doesn't charge late fees, so it's fine... mostly...

ok, so I'm not trying to nit-pick, and maybe we'll get to this point eventually, but... how did the blind aliens figure out the existence and location of other stars? It just seems strange that they would've gone to the enormous effort of creating complex devices (radio telescopes, maybe?) to search for stars without any evidence of their senses to suggest the existence of such. It boggles my mind.

it's even funnier that Weir got the tornadoes in Europe thing wrong because the guy spouting the incorrect information is supposed to be a climatologist whose models have always been perfect: LoL. Oh, and just to elucidate my point: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...

tsk tsk, factual error, there actually ARE tornadoes in Europe; they aren't usually as powerful as tornadoes in North America, but they aren't terribly uncommon
