the appendices start at 59%, so I'm really closer to 80% done

I've read this 10-12 times (not sure, I lost count a few years back), and the Ride of the Rohirrim still chokes me up

I admit it, I'm devouring this like I have the Destroyermen books, there's a couple problems: first, there's a BIG feeling of been there done that because the premise falls SO close to Forstchen's Lost Regiment and the basic plot is very similar to the early Destroyermen books, but without all the wonder of learning about a new world. Still, the action's good and I like the protagonists.

SO... it's only really like 350 pages long, but because Lord of the Rings is considered a single book divided into release volumes, the page numbers continue from where Fellowship left off, so no, I didn't read 449 pages of Two Towers today
