I thought this would be a more racially driven story. Maybe we just haven't gotten to it yet.

I really enjoy this. Not much of a story so far, but it's interesting anyway.

The sci-fi elements are much better done than the more realistic ones. Let's stick with those, shall we?

Have I ever mentioned that I hate being associated with the south, just because I live there? Because I hate it. I hate the racist undertones to everything. I hate all the homophobia. I hate how Confederates are treated as war heroes.

I am extremely excited to read this book. It's one of my mom's very favorites, and I've heard so many great things about it, even moreso than most classics.

Crappy novelization is crappy. Terrible editing.

It's way too obvious that Netzer is saying, "I'm gonna deal with what it's like to be different!" "I'm gonna deal with having to pull the plug on your dying mother!" It's preventing her from saying anything insightful.

I'm finally here! Jesus Christ, it took a while to get to this volume. Far longer than it should've.

We're more than halfway through, and the mystery has yet to make notable progress.

I might've already mentioned this, but the book would be dramatically better if Netzer had cut down on the number of flashbacks. Too much extraneous information.

The balcony scene! Shakespeare did a really good job of making you think, "Man how could anyone be that stupid?" while at the same time making it realistic to how teenagers really think. That makes it meaningful - even as ridiculous as it is, it's a little touching to see people this passionate about each other, particularly given their less than happy ending.

The conversation with Death actually wasn't that badly done. The book isn't improving, mind you, but that section wasn't as tremendously terrible as the rest.

I feel so... disconnected from everything that's going on. I mean, I know so much about Sunny and her life story, but I have absolutely no investment in her future.

I got an e-mail from Justine Larbalestier! I mean, I had to e-mail her first, but still! An author I like cares what I have to say!

That twist was completely unnecessary, out-of-nowhere, and cheesy. Why was it there?

Around halfway through, and this still feels like the beginning. I believe this is what's known a a problem.

I dislike the girl posse. Very unrealistic. Although I still like the concept. It still parallels my life to a bizarre degree, what with Rafe wanting so badly to protect Georgia, and showing actual concern about her when she talks about Miller's brother. That part really did get me.

I want this book to be over a lot more than I should. It's not terrible or anything, I'm just... bored with it.

The suspicious butler was not a villain. I'm sure everyone was surprised by this astounding twist. Although I already feel certain that someone from Spectrum will be a villain.

It really is a shame we can't understand Shaekspeare's puns without a translation. We don't get the full effect of his plays, no matter how hard we try.
