This is so good! Man, I'd forgotten how good Mullin's writing is. This is probably the most realistic apocalypse I've ever read.

Has Alex always been this much of a Gary Stu? I never really noticed it before, but it's starting to stand out more.

I'm not quite sure what I think of this. Anderson can certainly give her characters voices, that's for sure. But the high school descriptions are a little cliched.

This is a little hard to follow - it's not always clear which dialogue bubble goes with which character. But it's still kinda fun, and the story could be interesting.

I haven't even read the summary for this. But the artwork on the cover is so pretty! (That's not the primary reason I read it, but still!)

Yeah, the part where they split up is a lot weaker than the rest of the series. But it's over now, and the rest of this arc is really good.

I recall this being a weaker arc in the anime - it felt like a distraction from the larger narrative, and too romance-focused. But it doesn't last too long, so I'll be fine.

I'm happy to be almost done with this book. I have confidence that I'll make it through. I was told that the ending was the best part, but... man, this isn't much better than the rest of it.

On one hand, I can see why it makes sense to have so many different villains, given that these were originally released once per month - audiences would get bored reading about the same villain for a year. But on the other hand, in a collection like this, it makes the conflict very whip-lashy.

The plot is exciting, I'll give it that. It's been a while since I've read anything this action-oriented.

I went in expecting to hate this, but I'm actually kind of enjoying it. It kinda reminds me of Animorphs. And the action is more engaging and less cheesy than I expected it to be, although the villains are kind of bland. Still, I didn't expect the characters to be this developed. That said, did they have to make the only black character a - and I'm quoting here - "African goddess"? I mean, really?

Almost here! It's worth noting, I kinda liked Queer, at least. But most just aren't memorable.

Meh. This is a lot like the last kids book I read in that its audience will like it, but it's not for me.

These boys are honestly acting a bit young for middle school. Which makes sense - it'll help make them relatable to the book's audience - but it's also a bit weird.

Boy, this really hasn't aged well in terms of politics. It's still a really good play, but... wow, there's a lot of things that would be unfortunate if they were written today.

This is a pretty young book - probably the youngest I've read this year - so a lot of it is groan-inducing. But I'm still having fun with it. And I like that the superhero is named after Stupendous Man, because who wouldn't?

This kinda has racist undertones. I'd say that it's a product of its time, except that I'm reading a rewrite from the 70's, which is when it really gets to the point where it's not okay anymore.

This format is going to be tough to get used to. But I think I could enjoy this.

I can't tell if I really love this or hate how un-subtle it is. Only time will tell, I suppose.

I would've really liked this six years ago. Now, though, it's a little dull, character-wise.

I thought this was supposed to be about a serial killer. Two thirds of the way in, and he's only killed one person. This is not serial killing.
