I just posted this for the wrong book. This is why I shouldn't do things at 3:30 in the morning when I wake up randomly...

Decided to go ahead and read book #3 of the trilogy. This one is back to reading smoothly like book #1!

This book does not read as fluidly as the first one did. It's not completely sucking me in like the first one did but it's still very good.

Still not entirely sure of the vibe of this book, but I dig it, so I'll keep going! ❤️ The WW1 stuff definitely rips at my heart. I cannot and do not want to imagine... 😞

Tragic. WW1 stories always absolutely gut me. Well written and so vivid. Loving it so far.

It's hard to say what is lacking in this book. It's absolutely clunky as others have said. I think it is doing lots of telling and not enough showing. It's missing the fine details that make a book rich. BUT the plot is interesting so I'm still at it in spite of the flaws!

I NEVER read books w less than a 3.8 rating on here, but something about this one pulled me in. The reviews are TERRIBLE and that's because this book was not edited at all. Errors galore 😑 BUT so far I am enjoying the plot. It's a little hokey in some spots but not enough to put me off just yet!
