An interesting read, even though my area of interest is the 3rd Dynasty and most of the interest centers on later dynasties, like the 18th, which is when young King Tut ruled. Still packed with pictures and information, and a good reference for my work.

Necessary for me, because I'm writing a trilogy set in ancient Egypt. I have a good number of reference books, and this one is on the top of the pile. My main character is Imhotep -- not the character in the MUMMY movies, but the real, historical Imhotep. He was a physician, astronomer, magician... & an architect. He designed the first true pyramid, the Step Pyramid at Saqqara, circa 2500 BC. It's still there.
