This books is a pleasure to read. I like the convenience of a Kindle reader. However, I enjoy the tactile feel of a paper book. There is something that I find relaxing with a real book in my hand that is lacking with a Kindle. This book despite light on action, and no graphic sex, has been a good read. It is all about one woman and her effort to finish a mission from more than 80 years ago.

I have not read a whole lot of SciFi because most of it lately has not appealed to me. This novel falls in the "Humanist Movement" within SciFi where the story is more about people rather than the political. Like the early stories of Heinlein, Asimov, Norton, and Burroughs - this is a story about a person and what happens not a learning lesson on the evils of wayward government and benefits of social engineering.

Another entry into the Sten series. I have served with Ghurkhas. I found Gurkhas to be excellent soldiers and comrades in arms. Reading about Ghurkas in this story is fun and reminds me of those that I served with many years ago.

I am re-reading this book. I forgot that I disliked the casual sex in these books. I immediately disliked General Mosby as she had casual sex with the emperor despite having another lover on Algeron. Still a good story but I dislike one of the major characters already.

This is a re-read for me. I have been reading the later books in the series and thought that I would go back to the beginning.

Still a good read so far. Sten (not to be confused with the British submachine gun) is a hard-luck survivor on an artificial manufacturing planet. Refusing to cow to the evil company he stages some creative rebellions. I particularly like the manufactured fighting knife story line. I just started the story line where Sten has hooked up with the Delinquents. Not surprisingly, Sten acquired a leader position.

This is a decent story. Another series that I have wanted to read for a while. I have read books by both authors before. A good read so far, but not one that I am likely to reread or keep.

I have wanted to read this series for several years. I like space opera. The Lost Fleet books seem to be some of the best of the space opera genre. Black Jack Geary is very human, & despite being a reluctant hero, humble. A man wholly out of place & time. I look forward to reading the rest of this book & the series.

Rather complex beginning but so far a good read. Plot jumps around a lot and there is a bunch of plot lines to keep track of, but I like the intrigue so far. Those looking for immediate action and pulse-pounding suspense will be disappointed by the first 200 pages of this novel.

This is a decent entry into the urban fantasy vampire genre. Not so much romance that it gags me. Enough violence and plot mechanics that I don't get bored. I like the author's different vampire ecology. Thank God the vampires do not sparkle! Might read more of this author's work. Unless the vampires start sparkling, then the book goes in the recycling bin.

This has been an excellent example of space opera. Some parts remind me of the Bataan Death March and some of the The Bridge on the River Kwai. I disagree with the cover stating "former lover" as the Legion Captain obviously does not consider their relationship over.
