She decided to snoop around the docks herself in boys clothes.

Rem realizes that Sammie may have insider knowledge about the shipbuilders because of her brother's shipbuilding company.

10 years later, Alainn is an outspoken woman with significant magical powers and lusted after by most of the men. She can often read people's thoughts. She can also read and write. She is smitten with Killian, but thinks he hasn't realized she grew up. Killian dreams of her, but knows they can be no more than friends.

Sammie has determined that Rem is her future husband and is undaunted that he is not on board. She tries to serve brandy to him, fills the glasses to full and choaked on it. He is activating his network to find out information. He is amused by Sammie at this point.

Drake was insanely jealous of Alex's flirting which she was doing to find out who was trying to kill Drake. He fled for 3 days and Sebastian tried to rape Alex, but Drake arrived just in time. Sebastian poisoned their father. Duel was fought with weak gunpowder, Sebastian fired early & ball didn't go far enough. Drake put gun to his head, but didn't fire. They didn't say what actually happened to him.

They return as Drake's father died. She can't trust him now, but still loves him. He is drowning with his new role and his only solace is nights with her. His brother is despicable, lusting after Alex, and trying to kill Drake. Drake falls from horse during house party while making jump. He heard crack during jump?

They spend an idyllic month on an island and find a dog. Smitty arrives with a ship and they head back to England. She still doesn't know he is a nobleman. She is worried about her mother's and the ton's reception of her marrying a sea captain.

She married a sea captain with many reservations about how he feels about her. America declares war on England and they make haste to head back. Warship comes upon them and sinks them. Their own cannonballs all fall short. Alex knocked on the head overboard and Drake goes in after them. After her rescue, they were too far from the lifeboats.

They bickered with one another but came to a truce and talked in the evening getting to know one another. Drake received a concussion during a violent storm and called out for Alex. She cared for him and he realized the truth of her innocence. Afterwards, he tried to avoid her until they got to York. Her father insisted on marriage.

"Hatred consumes too much energy."

Alexandria stole on board w/o anything and hid under the captain's bunk until they had left port. Drake's brother is plotting something with the aid of a debtor. It is likely something to cause the ship to sink. Alexandria first charmed the crew then disrupted the entire ship with her efforts to aid the crew or pass the time.

Mary found a gang of thieves and the leader started killing the victims so Mary could take their memories. She led Ian and Edwina into a trap they narrowly escaped. Both sisters can transform into birds. Mary also took George Elvenfoot's memories which is why he is fleeing all, not knowing who he is.

Mary is looking very complicit with the slasher murders. She seems to have their memories and even their possessions. Sir Elvenfoot arrived after being summoned by Ian to the shop. His son's thistle kilt pin was in the shop and Edwina doesn't know how. They try to identify Ian's bauble to fill in the gaps and Mary goes wild and runs off with it. It seems she took his memories to protect herself and George?

The narrator does an amazing job vocalizing the different characters and even when Edwina sings her spells.

Ian finds his hotel and is thrown out because he has slasher drawings with his possessions. They won't let him have them back and call the cops. After fleeing to a safehouse, they review the newspapers to find someone cutting people's throats and Ian realizes that is the memory he couldn't understand. Mary gathered that man's memories. It makes sense she would gather on her evening walks.

Edwinda insists on helping Ian with the investigation that he needs to restart. First, they go to foreshore where Ian tries to remember what led him there. Gang of boys trap them on exit stairs as tide coming in, Ian brings in fog. Edwinda causes gulls to attack boys. Ian facinated at type of her magic. She continues to insist on helping.

Sisters mudlarking, Mary takes memories of almost dead man, then he recovers. Edwinda tries to restore his memories, but he has very bad reaction. They must have been the wrong memories. Hearth Elf appears and saves Ian, restoring most of his memories. He is a PI and now is missing 4 days of investigation that almost got him killed.

The epilogue was perfect. Skye led Walker on a hunt through hidden passages in the house to a servant's room where they made love. Skye gets to go adventuring with Walker and they found the missing treasure.

They both return to the house. Impostor & sister were hunting for the missing treasure. Corina above stairs and Parnell digging below. Real uncle died in a cave in because Corina was forcing him to dig. Parnell locked Annie and Matt away somewhere to die and did the same to Skye and Walker. Skye and Walker escaped. Corina died in end fight.

Plot twist! The inventor is an impostor! The real inventor was Walker's uncle. Walker has lived a very adventuresome life and Skye is warming to his story and feeling envy.

Walker follows Skye to NY. She sees him and ducks him. He tracks her down. She comes to his hotel and Jay Mac catches them in bed. Wedding 3 days later. Skye handling all badly.

Skye's nightgown is wet with the attacks also.

Walker is the beau. Inventor shows her his engine, and tries to attack her. She can't get away and goes limp. Then she threated his workroom with a lamp and gets dismissed, except inventor wants her followed to see where she goes and then wants her brought back. There is a reference that inventor's investors are more like scams.

Skye gets housekeeper job. Two men seem to be vying for her, but Marshal is the one she is interacting with most. She starts off very well at the house. At night, she is somewhat getting fondled and likely drugged since she can't usually move during these things. On 3rd night Marshal is in her room and he gets hit on the head, but her room is locked. Is there a secret passage or someone using balcony?

Jay Mac asks her to spy. She is cut at skating party because they think she is pregnant. She hides among trees in park and witnesses 2 on 1 fight. Later that night, the house is robbed, and you wonder if it was the same man both places. The first man was gentlemanly, but the second man took liberties.

Cassidy needed Alexis to finish his "bomb" that would knock out electricity for the next hundred years. He kidnapped her and threatened her with a nuclear winter earth if she didn't help. Sam and Tom found island by following radio signal. Sent coords to Alisse and USS Texas destroyed island with depth charges. 1983 crew was saved & cmdr was Alexis' uncle.
