Alright, this is definitely the moment where shit is about to hit the fan.

I love the short chapters. But it definitely makes it harder to put down before going to bed 😅

Why in the name of Merlin's saggy left buttock is Aled so unbelievably cute? I already like this so much more than Solitaire.

I've read about a lot of douchebags since I've started reading contemporary romance, but Seb is unquestionably making it to the Top Five.

I half expect Seb to do some macho dude thing like slam a fist on the radiator, after which it will magically work, having been subdued by the force of his overwhelming masculinity.

Whenever I do something like this, I break things 😅

I find it odd that everyone only calls him "boy". I mean, he has a name. It's Lancelot 🙈

I think this is going to take a while to finish, but I'm really enjoying it so far. Always loved everything Arthurian.

I'm sorry, not sorry, but historical fiction/mythology books are absolutely my thing this year.

Ugh, I hate it when I read a whole book in one sitting 🙈

Thoughts:

— It's really sad to see how Cassandra, the most gifted of the women, gets shunned by everyone. Even her own mother.
— Speaking of Hecabe... <spoiler>she just killed two innocent boys and called it justice because their father killed her youngest boy first. What the hell?</spoiler>
— I always liked Odysseus, but in the end, he's just as much of a cheater as all the other men in this book.

Well, Helen doesn't seem to be liked much by the other Trojan women.

It does hurt, I whispered. It should hurt. [Creusa] isn't a footnote, she's a person. And she - all the Trojan women - should be memorialized as much as any other person.

This is going to be a good book. My gut feeling says so.

Thoughts:

— Silas, you precious little demon. Don't ever to this again 😭💔
— Perhaps after this, influential families will stop trying to catapult their unwed daughters over my garden fence. Which actually did happen once. I had to fend her off with a trowel. / I totally wouldn't mind if someone catapulted Julian Blackthorn over my garden fence. Or Draco Malfoy.

Thoughts:

— I wonder if book lice really exist.
— Dang, I would sacrifice my firstborn to work at the Royal Library in Austermeer. Just imagine having to tickle a book for it to open. How cute is that?
— “His name is—er—it's”—[Elisabeth] gulped—“Sir Fluffington.” Dangling from Parsifal's hands, Silas gave her a look of extreme reproach. Well, Silas clearly likes the new name!

Thoughts:

— This book is giving me some serious 19th century vibes. I approve.
— Oh, Nathaniel. Where are thou? I desperately need you to save the day before I decide to jump into this book myself and smack a certain Chancellor across the face.
— Ashcroft reminds me a lot of Gilderoy Lockhart. Both are blonde and extremely insufferable.

Thoughts:

— Nathaniel is one sarcastic bitch. Please let him be the love interest.
— I really like where this story is going. I mean, this is a book about magical books. I'm already sold.
— Elisabeth doesn't act like a sixteen-year-old, more like a child, to be honest, but I still like her.
— Silas. I'm going to find out what you are. Right now, my guess is a demon.

I really wonder where this story is taking me. So far, I have absolutely no clue.

It's taking me forever to finish this book.
