God, it‘s so hard to guess who‘s behind all this. The clues obviously lead to Jareth but I‘m not so sure about that. It would be way too easy.

It looks like someone has huge daddy issues.

Thoughts :

‣ The magic system is a bit confusing. It doesn't make much sense in my opinion.
‣ Hugh and Raelynn are the cutest old couple ever.
‣ I honestly don't know who to trust. Any of the students or teachers could be responsible for the attacks on Verene. I don't think it's Darius... but maybe Jareth? His friendliness is suspicious. The same goes for Bryony. I'm not sold on her yet.

I really want Verene and Darius to end up together. Anything else is not acceptable.

I really enjoy Mary's story but I don't think the book needs to be that long 😅

Holmberg's writing is so good. No wonder I've almost read all of her books by now.

I take back everything I said about Locke. I don't like him. I don't trust him. That guy's hiding something, isn't he?

Thoughts:

— I don't think Jude should trust Prince Dain. I'm smelling ulterior motives on his part. After all, he’s the only one who can control her now.
— Something happened to Taryn. I don't know what, but she's behaving strangely. What did you say to her, Cardan?
— I hate Valerian and Nicasia 😒 Locke seems to be alright, but I still hope he's not going to be a love interest.

As Cardan walks past the boy, apparently done with him, I am grateful that Cardan has five more worthy brothers and sisters; it's practically guaranteed that he'll never sit on the throne.

I don't know anything about this book and avoided as many spoilers as possible but my gut feeling tells me that this statement might be wishful thinking 😂
