This is done wonderfully, like I knew Lisa the writer, sensitive animal lover, and wife, would achieve.

I am ready to read Lisa Haapaniemi Swayze's book. She is a born writer, who often worked with Patrick on his film scripts, even improving how "Dirty Dancing" came out. They were a good team. I am happy Lisa found the heart to remarry again. She deserves it. I did my best to help my Son cat with cancer in January and cat Daughter lost just last week, to kidney disease! I am reading this out of personal interest.

Man, is this ever a special novel! It is modern, the perspective I like best but goes back in time, teaching us real history: Canadian history. We have all heard of Henry Hudson. His name graces our mammoth, country founding body of northern water and the department store across our land too. But I realized that I knew nothing of his story. Few people know of the fantastic Canadian books I find. They will now!

Excellent! Oh, I am almost angry over how few people know this wonderful Canadian adventure. It is full of history and intelligent character building, modern and of old. What an original setting, the Hudson's Bay area of Ontario on an archaeological dig. It has me more intrigued than I expected. The contents and pace are dense for youths so I encourage adult readers. It makes me want to know about Henry Hudson.

A fresh, very unusual story from the start. Will I dig that, or be among the few readers and feedback star givers who didn't? Originality impresses upon me first, so there is a good chance I will like it better than others did. We are in the lake country of Ontario this time! I needed another ship story, after delighting in the Nova Scotia water adventures of "Windward Island", by Canada's great Karleen Bradford.

A wonderful, wholesome, Canadian novel that exudes island life for we land dwellers, better than I have ever seen. A lighthouse, birds, whales, sharks, landscape, and people helping eachother without a need to ask. A great general fiction adventure that draws you right in and makes of you a friend, without needing a mystery or hard luck. No drama except in the minds of boyhood pals. This is a fresh change for me.

We honour our precious Mom cat, Marigold this morning. She is the pure orange darling on the left in my profile picture. The dear grey tabby on my lap is Spirit, who ascended January 14. We only buried him May 8 (winter climate). I still grieve that 16 1/2 year-old who had cancer. How can our 11 1/2 year-old be gone from kidney disease? Comments are appreciated. A like button would be hollow, not what we want.

I am very lucky to be on Goodreads. After logging me out today and requiring a log-in, I see to great dismay for dial-up internet users, that they added a "prove you aren't a robot" captcha. Slow internet can seldom click the checkmark to get past it, if it loads at all! Anyone who intended to befriend me outside this network, this is my e-address lest I be cut off ever again: RiedelFascination(at)Gmail(dot)com.

I see that this is a dictionary of medical problems to match with spiritual or emotional causes, therefore I am only going to browse those of family interest. I will read all descriptions around the dictionary. The hostess of the Canadian reading challenge deems this satisfactory to completing and reviewing the book, as do I; who does not abandon things unfinished.

I read this with our cats, for McCartney's wonderful birthday yesterday evening. Happy twenty-first birthday to you, my darling! Love: Momma, Ron, Grandpa, Marigold, Angel, Petal, and Conan wherever he is. Love & light from Heaven from Spirit, Lovey, and Grandma.

I wish I weren't tired during my flower gardening season and worrying about closest family members. However, Marigold is coming along great and Dad is getting there. They are both prayers that are being answered. This book is great and I will fly through, after the majority of our flowers are on their way to growing.

I could not recommend this fun, educational book more. It is a Canadian compiled book from CBC Radio that far more people need to know.

It is a rare book of which I don't recall whence it came. This one must have been in a group of hastily picked-up second-hand scores. I saw it among our library shelves yesterday and I'll be darned, if it isn't fascinating immediately! As is my beef with many great Canadian books, I cannot believe almost no one at Goodreads is familiar with it. It is fast becoming one of the best trivia collections I have opened.

Wow, this introduction by French Canadian Lise Bourbeau, is not called "energy healing". Hers is a book of 500 physical symptoms to check for suggested spiritual and emotional causes. In 1997, Lise exactly matched the educational caution from energy healing teachers Donna Eden, Madison King, and Ellen Meredith. Body symptoms are a signal about something off spiritually or emotionally, red dashboard light warnings.

Trust Kay Hooper. You rightfully expect some aspect of these novels to be fluff and she does repeat the formula "couple stays alone for a few weeks and falls in love". The woman is reluctant, tough, and never felt love or sex like that shared with the male protagonist. But gosh darn it, if Kay doesn't tell a great story and have us rooting for those couples. In this one an animal is rescued, keeping me impressed.

A fun, romantic mystery rompo with Kay Hooper. I like reading in publishing order, so a few more until I reprise her popular detective series.

Written fantastically! I needn't have waited to read this for so long. What is more, Manitoba is featured in our land and people marvellously, as only a fellow Manitoban like Gabrielle could do!
