Not my books!

I currently have 8 books listed under my profile on Goodreads, and 3 of them are not mine!

Two of these are poetry and one is erotica.

I would really like these removed. I would hate for anyone to think that I write poetry.

My books are: Bad Blood, Bad Luck, Bad Medicine, and Declared Dead. Bloedfactor is a German translation of Bad Blood.

I have no idea how the other books got there. One of them even Read more of this blog post »

Hilarious? No. Some satire and some humorous moments but nothing I would describe as hilarious.

Sam turned into a really tedious character, what with her side braid with a fountain pen stuck in it. From the first approach of William Corwyn I was like:

Loved the setting. Kinda familiar plot, and lots of dead spots.

I was almost put off by the beginning of this book, because the writing was lyrical and descriptive and I was in the mood for character. And also I was like, uh-oh, a first-person disaffected writer, who's blocked. But I quickly got the characters, a ...more

Not sure if I've ever given a 1-star review but I almost did with this one.

Obviously from the beginning someone was going to die, and someone was going to be the killer. By the time it happened I didn't really care which character would take either p

Okay, this is not a high rating, and it's not entirely the book's fault, but I'lll start with that one. The ending was very fuzzy and highly unsatisfying. To say more would require spoilers but let's just say the arc was incomplete and the ending see ...more

Good thrillers from Amazon Prime First Reads have been spotty, to say the least, but this one was a hit for me. Maybe a little more gore than usual, and I don't think a great thriller really needs that element. I would categorize this as a bit of Dex ...more

Not very realistic but good escape fiction. But gotta say, if the copy editor was one of those thanked in the acknowledgments, s/he should not have been. Many editing errors and lots of inconsistencies.

Thich Nhat Hanh
“We often think of peace as the absence of war, that if powerful countries would reduce their weapon arsenals, we could have peace. But if we look deeply into the weapons, we see our own minds- our own prejudices, fears and ignorance. Even if we transport all the bombs to the moon, the roots of war and the roots of bombs are still there, in our hearts and minds, and sooner or later we will make new bombs. To work for peace is to uproot war from ourselves and from the hearts of men and women. To prepare for war, to give millions of men and women the opportunity to practice killing day and night in their hearts, is to plant millions of seeds of violence, anger, frustration, and fear that will be passed on for generations to come. ”
Thich Nhat Hanh, Living Buddha, Living Christ

Lisa Scottoline
“I’ve read that one out of twenty-four people is a sociopath, and if you ask me, the other twenty-three of you should be worried.”
Lisa Scottoline, Every Fifteen Minutes

Madeleine L'Engle
“The discipline of creation, be it to paint, compose, write, is an effort towards wholeness.”
Madeleine L'Engle, Walking on Water: Reflections on Faith and Art

Edgar Allan Poe
“Believe nothing you hear, and only one half that you see.”
Edgar Allan Poe

Albert Einstein
“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science. He to whom the emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand wrapped in awe, is as good as dead —his eyes are closed. The insight into the mystery of life, coupled though it be with fear, has also given rise to religion. To know what is impenetrable to us really exists, manifesting itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty, which our dull faculties can comprehend only in their most primitive forms—this knowledge, this feeling is at the center of true religiousness.”
Albert Einstein, Living Philosophies
