I love stories rich with meaning, full of insight. conflict and archetypes. Multilayered tales with simple structure and deeper intent.

I hope you enjoy the fruits of my imagination. There's more where these came from, so stick around. It's going to be fun.

The sequel is well underway. I want it to shine the way Dreamwalker does but good writing takes time. As of now, I plan on releasing it early 2018. I had been hoping for January, but real life issues have delayed that. It likely will be closer to spring.

That is why I decided to release my first companion novel, Tales of the Archer, next month. Sort of a treat to keep you busy while I finish polishing the sequel. A small book, both in page count and in scope, it focuses on Bear Clan and Archer's history. There are no spoilers in it to either Dreamwalker or Chasing the Legend (book 2). But a little bird told me that some of the events in Tales will play a part in the situation Archer finds himself in in Chasing the Legend. I may be posting all or part of chapter 1 on my blog in the next week or two for you to see what you think.

Also, you can sign up for my newsletter through my blog if you want to be notified of new releases, sales, and Advanced Reader Copy availability. Actually, come to think of it, I still have a few ARC copies available for Tales of the Archer. If you are interested in obtaining one, send me a message here or on FB. Thank you so much for your enthusiasm! I won't let you down.

Weekly Scribbling

Here is a very short scene from nothing in particular.
Let's call it Thieves Row.

Esme put down the jeweler’s loupe and pursed her lips. “St. Barnabas’s watch?” she scoffed, turning her eyes to the well-dressed man across the counter. “D’you really expect me to fall for that? I dinna just fall of the barge, ya know, Seamus.”

“I know. That’s why I came to you, Ess,” he said, the intensity in his d Read more of this blog post »

Arundhati Roy
“...the secret of the Great Stories is that they have no secrets. The Great Stories are the ones you have heard and want to hear again. The ones you can enter anywhere and inhabit comfortably. They don’t deceive you with thrills and trick endings. They don’t surprise you with the unforeseen. They are as familiar as the house you live in. Or the smell of your lover’s skin. You know how they end, yet you listen as though you don’t. In the way that although you know that one day you will die, you live as though you won’t. In the Great Stories you know who lives, who dies, who finds love, who doesn’t. And yet you want to know again.

That is their mystery and their magic.”
Arundhati Roy, The God of Small Things

G.K. Chesterton
“Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed.”
G.K. Chesterton

Anne Lamott
“You own everything that happened to you. Tell your stories. If people wanted you to write warmly about them, they should have behaved better.”
Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird

Ursula K. Le Guin
“The trouble is that we have a bad habit, encouraged by pedants and sophisticates, of considering happiness as something rather stupid. Only pain is intellectual, only evil interesting. This is the treason of the artist; a refusal to admit the banality of evil and the terrible boredom of pain.”
Ursula K. LeGuin, The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas

“The horse is a mirror to your soul...and sometimes you might not like what you see in the mirror. ~Buck Brannaman”
Catherine Madera, Rhinestones
