I left New Jersey after high school never wanting to return, but lo and behold, I'm back. I attended three universities in the East and married a Marine, traveling all over the country before finally coming home again.

Always a reader and a lover of stories, I never thought of myself as a writer. I love to sink my teeth into stories rich with meaning, full of insight. conflict and archetypes. Multilayered tales with simple structure and deeper intent.

When you love something this much, when you develop a passion for it, you eventually try your hand at it. And so began my writing adventure.

I hope you enjoy the fruits of my imagination. There's more where these came from, so stick around. It's going to be fun.

The sequel is well underway. I want it to shine the way Dreamwalker does but good writing takes time. As of now, I plan on releasing it early 2018. I had been hoping for January, but real life issues have delayed that. It likely will be closer to spring.

That is why I decided to release my first companion novel, Tales of the Archer, next month. Sort of a treat to keep you busy while I finish polishing the sequel. A small book, both in page count and in scope, it focuses on Bear Clan and Archer's history. There are no spoilers in it to either Dreamwalker or Chasing the Legend (book 2). But a little bird told me that some of the events in Tales will play a part in the situation Archer finds himself in in Chasing the Legend. I may be posting all or part of chapter 1 on my blog in the next week or two for you to see what you think.

Also, you can sign up for my newsletter through my blog if you want to be notified of new releases, sales, and Advanced Reader Copy availability. Actually, come to think of it, I still have a few ARC copies available for Tales of the Archer. If you are interested in obtaining one, send me a message here or on FB. Thank you so much for your enthusiasm! I won't let you down.

Review of Frankenstein

Frankenstein by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley My rating: 5 of 5 stars I had never read this classic before. Of course, I’ve seen adaptations of it on film and in general lore. Those accounts give far more interest to the “science” of it (which Shelley completely glosses over). Frequently pointed to as a treatise against “playing …

Arundhati Roy
“...the secret of the Great Stories is that they have no secrets. The Great Stories are the ones you have heard and want to hear again. The ones you can enter anywhere and inhabit comfortably. They don’t deceive you with thrills and trick endings. They don’t surprise you with the unforeseen. They are as familiar as the house you live in. Or the smell of your lover’s skin. You know how they end, yet you listen as though you don’t. In the way that although you know that one day you will die, you live as though you won’t. In the Great Stories you know who lives, who dies, who finds love, who doesn’t. And yet you want to know again.

That is their mystery and their magic.”
Arundhati Roy, The God of Small Things

G.K. Chesterton
“Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed.”
G.K. Chesterton

Anne Lamott
“You own everything that happened to you. Tell your stories. If people wanted you to write warmly about them, they should have behaved better.”
Anne Lamott, Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life

Ursula K. Le Guin
“The trouble is that we have a bad habit, encouraged by pedants and sophisticates, of considering happiness as something rather stupid. Only pain is intellectual, only evil interesting. This is the treason of the artist; a refusal to admit the banality of evil and the terrible boredom of pain.”
Ursula K. LeGuin, The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas

“The horse is a mirror to your soul...and sometimes you might not like what you see in the mirror. ~Buck Brannaman”
