Well-written, especially the characters. The problem is that the ending felt rushed and seemed like the author was trying too hard to be ambiguous after a suspenseful buildup. I did like it overall, but felt a moment of “that’s it?” after it was over ...more

Sandee is Reading Hi Mark! Thanks for the friend invite! Looking forward to seeing the books you read and review. :)

In the Pantheon Hey Mark! Thanks for accepting the friend invite. This was the project I think I mentioned briefly in the MacHalo group. I'd love for you to stop by the site inthepantheon.com and check out a few posts. (Not to try and recruit you, but okay maybe trying to recruit you, I think you'd be AWESOME at this.) Take care - Shelly <3

Marc *Dark Reader with a Thousand Young! Iä!* What happened to the bow tie?

message 19: by Gary

Gary Thanks for inviting me to the Epic Fantasy group.

message 18: by Nenia

Nenia Campbell I really like the Hidden Legacy series. It's like x men with a caste system hierarchically organized around powers. Brandon Sanderson has a similar book called Steelheart.

message 17: by Nenia

Nenia Campbell Hi Mark! Thanks for the add. Ilona Andrews is the best! Which series of hers is your favorite?

message 16: by Gavin

Gavin Thanks for the friend request, Mark! I see your updates around so much that I thought we were already friends lol.

Eilonwy Thanks for the friend invite! I do seem to be bumping into you everywhere lately! :-)
Sadly, I too will probably be made at Glen Cook soon, since I should be picking up PoS either tomorrow or next Saturday. But what are friends for, if not to share awful book journeys as well as good ones?

Hahaha, thank you Gollum Elena. Long is fine, but only if I don't have to add it to my "Currently Reading" shelf :D.

Elena I think... I just sent you the longest email in the history of emails.

Veronica Thanks for the friend request, Mark! I look forward to talking books and getting more active in BB&B. I regret that I missed out on the Black Company series buddy reads.

✨ Helena ✨ Nice to meet you, too! :)

Spinning Silver is...tentatively...my favourite read of 2018. I read Uprooted in March (I think?) and I thought that THAT would be my favourite book for the year, but I actually think that I prefer Spinning Silver. Have you read a lot of other faery tale retellings? That's a guilty pleasure of mine, haha. <3

I look forward to chatting with you, as well! Happy reading! :D

Kay Hello Mark! Thanks for the friend request. Looking forward to all your bookish thoughts and reviews!

Beige Thanks for the friend request! Looking forward to some book chit chats.

KaleidoscopicCasey What a happy coincidence that today happened to be the day I decided to boycott doing work AND I had reason to pop into MacHalos. Nice to meet you, and I hope to have an opportunity to chat books with you sometime soon. It seems we have much in common and plenty to discuss. :)

★Tinja★✮ Hi Mark !! So glad for the friend request, you're message made me smile. I'm so excited you've discovered IA!!! Everyone who loves them = instant friendship with me xD Ahh I love their books. 💜 I've re-read Kate Daniels like 8 times :D I see you've read Innkeepers and at which KD are you at? Who are your favorite characters? or the most interesting so far? Okay I'm calming down now, Mark. You can just ignore me but I'm happy to chat:))

Karishma Hello!
