Since an early age, I loved reading books by R.L. Stine, Stephen King, James Baldwin, Christopher Paul Curtis, and Mildred Taylor. Some of my new favorite authors include S.A. Cosby, Darcy Coates, Riley Sager, T.J. Newman, Tiffany D. Jackson, M.L. Wang, Frieda McFadden, Victor LaValle, Kwame Alexander, John Darryl Winston, Tomi Adeyami, Kiersten Modglin, and Adrian McKinty. It was my love for reading that helped hone my skills and gradually manifested into a passion for writing.

My latest suspense thriller 'Night Ghost' is available on Amazon.

However, when I'm describing a scene I can often picture it in my mind, but have trouble putting it into words. So I get my notebook and start brainstorming on the different descriptive ways to phrase the scene so the reader knows what's happening. One last thing I do is go for a walk in the park and observe everything around me. Looking at the scenery really helps get my creativity flowing. Because I'm not just looking at what's obvious. In my mind I'm seeing a story in everything. The grass, the bushes, the hills, the trees, the shadows, the clouds.... it all has a story behind it in my eyes. (less)

I always strive to make each of my characters unique to keep the audience engaged. And doing so makes the reader care about them. During my writing process, I often tune everything out and get lost in my own story, and I really enjoy it. Creating unique characters, giving them actions, and using words to paint a picture and bring the story to life is very fulfilling to me. I'm so glad to call myself a writer! (less)
