In 2008 Sam got his Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Creative Writing and a concentration in Information Technology. Two years later he graduated with a Master of Science in Applied Experimental and Engineering Psychology with focuses on Human-Computer Interaction, Information Processing, and Interactive Programming.

Professionally, he's a programmer, and in the past few years he has worked in the e-commerce, corporate tax, and education industries. His first novel, Letters to an Old God, was self-published on Amazon (so you know it’s a big deal).

Sam's married, has a 1-year-old daughter, and is staff to a pair of cats. he believes Bioware videogames are the best videogames, and hope they can dodge the unstoppable march of EA
