Morgan Elizabeth Huneke fell in love with sci-fi and fantasy at age seven when she first read A Wrinkle in Time and The Chronicles of Narnia. In the time since, she's spent an inordinate amount of time exploring new realms and bygone eras through countless books, movies, and TV shows. She also spends a great deal of time talking to her imaginary friends and writing down their stories in books such as the Time Captives fantasy trilogy and Twisted Dreams, a sci-fi/fantasy Sleeping Beauty novella. On the occasion she remembers she lives in Georgia in the 21st century, she can be found playing and teaching violin and piano, singing along to Disney and Broadway soundtracks, turning pirouettes in the kitchen, and studying for her degree in elemen ...more

It takes place at approximately the same time as the end of The Crossways and the beginning of Crannig Castle, and sets up a few things for Crannig Castle. It's separate enough, though, that I didn't feel like I should tag it as part of the series.(less)

My Journey Through Becoming Free Indeed

I was going to call this a review, but it really isn't. It's less of a review and more of my thoughts on and experiences with legalism after reading Becoming Free Indeed  by Jinger Duggar Vuolo. Though I will say, I highly recommend this book, especially if you have any past with legalism, however big or small.
Honestly, I don't have nearly the legalism experience or damage that I see in a lot o Read more of this blog post »

Meh. Not a fan of his writing. Too much passive voice, not a whole lot of emotional depth to the characters, and the setup took way too long, all of which contributed to me never being all that invested in the story.

“I'm on Aslan's side even if there isn't any Aslan to lead it. I'm going to live as like a Narnian as I can even if there isn't any Narnia.”
C.S. Lewis, The Silver Chair

C.S. Lewis
“It isn't Narnia, you know," sobbed Lucy. "It's you. We shan't meet you there. And how can we live, never meeting you?"
"But you shall meet me, dear one," said Aslan.
"Are -are you there too, Sir?" said Edmund.
"I am," said Aslan. "But there I have another name. You must learn to know me by that name. This was the very reason why you were brought to Narnia, that by knowing me here for a little, you may know me better there.”
C.S. Lewis, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

C.S. Lewis
“What do they teach them at these schools?”
C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Molly Evangeline
“Great characters tell their own stories. The author just writes it down for them.”
Molly Evangeline

C.S. Lewis
“I was the lion who forced you to join with Aravis. I was the cat who comforted you among the houses of the dead. I was the lion who drove the jackals from you while you slept. I was the lion who gave the horses the new strength of fear for the last mill so that you should reach King Lune in time. And I was the lion you do not remember who pushed the boat in which you lay, a child near death, so that it came to shore where a man sat, wakeful at midnight, to receive you.”
