"Started reading this because I was chewing the fat about matters financial/economic/political with a mate and I was bewailing the fact that we didn't have a 'Dickens' to capture 'the times'. My friend said that he thought Trollope was better than Dickens, specifically TWWLN and most particularly in the character of Melmotte. I haven't got to Melmotte yet and am looking forward to him!" — May 10, 2013 07:50AM

"Started reading this 'cos I was given it (complete boxed set!) by the kids as a xmas prezzy. Loved the first two series on DVD and am finding the written version compelling too. Will I ever have the stamina to finish it when the dramas of finance/politics/warfare take so much reading time?" — May 09, 2013 09:42AM
