Started reading this because I was chewing the fat about matters financial/economic/political with a mate and I was bewailing the fact that we didn't have a 'Dickens' to capture 'the times'. My friend said that he thought Trollope was better than Dickens, specifically TWWLN and most particularly in the character of Melmotte. I haven't got to Melmotte yet and am looking forward to him!
