This was an excellent book. I saw the movie upon release on DVD and loved it and wanted to read this book ever since. This is one of the few, in recent years, that made me cry. Other than Opal and Preacher looking for Winn-Dixie towards the end, the one passage above made me cry. I lost my Mom to bone cancer this past December, on the 20th (5 days before Christmas), and no matter how much I wanted her to stay, I had to let her go. This passage really resonated with me. I definitely and highly recommend this book.
