I'm thinking about putting together a short list of public domain short stories to read in October. anyone interested?
I’m up for that idea, Latasha. (Let me know if you’d like some suggestions.)

We've started # 12 of The Stephen King Challenge - The Running Man. If anyone would like to join us, I've set up a thread.

After watching penny dreadful- no spoilers! I'm not done yet! And rewatching the Boris Karloff one, I've got a hankering to reread Frankenstein. Any takers? I was thinking in November.

Rachel wrote: "Kimberly, do you still wanna start the orchard? If so I'll set up the thread and I'll start the book by the weekend. I'll be done with my current books by then. I fell a little behind! :)"
I probably could by the weekend. My youngest was in ICU the past week and a half, but should be good before then.... Have a couple to catch up on yet, so the weekend would be the soonest for me. :)

Aw, oh no, I hope everything is okay. :( Sending well wishes your way to your little one!!!
Take all the time you need -- I'm in no rush! I'll wait for the weekend at least, too.

I'm getting ready to read an ARC of Black January to review for Douglas Wynne.
Yesterday, I noticed that he is giving away a few more ARCS, so I wanted to know if anyone wanted to read it with me?
Here's a link to his post: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
If you want to read it with me, please post here and I'll create a thread for us. (AND post on Douglas' thread so he can send you the ARC.)
As far as I know this book is set in the same world as Red Equinox, so it is helpful to have read Red Equinox first, but not absolutely necessary.

the thread is up for the Stephen king challenge, #13- different seasons.

Woo hoo! Let's do the Orchard for sure. I'll start a thread tonight or tmrw for us, and whoever else wants to join can :)
I'm actually interested in reading the Dark Tower series especially with the movie coming out soon-ish. But it may have to be a few weeks or so before I can start that...

Hope somebody will read Koontz with me, or maybe it is too old a book?

I just looked it up -- it sounds really good! Let me see if my library has it.

Cool! My version has a Golden Retriever on the front. If you know Koontz, he has a real weakness for that breed :-)

It's available in my library system so I put it on hold to get it transferred to my local branch. When it comes in I'll let you know and we can start it :) Should be within the week.

But I'm going to clearing out my library books and so I need to read The Suicide Motor Club and Flesh this month. If anyone wants to join in for either or both, let me know! I want to get started on either/both next week.
