Just finished The Critic by Peter May. Peter May hasn't disappointed me yet, and looking forward to the next one.

Just finished The Blood Road by Stuart MacBride #11 in the Logan Macrae series.I have read this series over a relatively short period (3 years compared to the 14 years it was written over). So perhaps that is why I have noticed the changes in style so much. I struggled with, and nearly gave up during, the graphically grim bloc near the beginning of the series, mainly because I like the Logan character. Then it lightened up a bit, and I really started to enjoy it. And now, I still enjoy, but notice that the dialogue and interactions of the main characters have become predictable and lightweight. Too many of the characters have become caricatures I think...
It would take a lot for me to give up on a series after 11 books, so I will keep going, but a bit more character driven for the next one please Mr MacBride (but hold the graphic grimness)
