A place to discuss our current reads, "Christian" or not. And if not, does anything about it stand out as being Christian?

I just finished The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris. Very suspenseful, but I wouldn't consider it a Christian read. :)
No, that is definitely not a Christian read, J.S. It's a great novel, though, IMO!Anyway, I'm actually reading Illusion, by Frank Peretti. Has anyone else read it?
IllusionI'll let you know once I'm done, Tracy (and everyone else that's interested.) Though right now, my feelings are mixed..

From what I've read so far, Tracy, I think you're going to love it! Illusion is like nothing I've ever read.. ever!
Today I started reading Full Dark, No Stars by Stephen King. I originally thought it was a novel but it turns out that it is four "long" stories in one volume.
I have just finished
and this book was fantastic. It is exactly what the title implies, the rapture.
I just finished reading Full Dark, No Stars about a month ago. A Good Marriage was the best of the 4 novellas, in my opinion. Why he called himself "Beadie" was very interesting. Nothing can match the ones in Four Seasons, though.
Are you done with Illusion, yet, Dustin? How does it match up with Peretti's earlier work?

I'm not done with Illusion yet, and quite frankly, I'm not all that impressed. I'll definitely be reviewing this one, though (as I've gotten into the habit of reviewing all the books I read.) As for how it compares to Peretti's earlier work I couldn't tell you because I haven't read any of them. Although my wife was absolutely blown away by Piercing the Darkness.

I am reading Sweet Blood of Mine by John Corwin who I haven't read before and I love it. John is a fantastic writer and his humor can't be matched. He is an indie author so you are limited to access his novels but if you do have an opportunity to read this I highly recommend it.

I am reading the Moon Dwellers by Davis Estes and Endlessly by Kiersten White. They are both very good.

The other day I started reading Twilight Eyes by Dean Koontz. It's a lot like his Odd Thomas series, but was written two decades earlier, so I guess the Odd Thomas series is like Twilight Eyes. I've also noticed that his earlier works are much steamier than his current ones. [blushes]

I sure am! I read "The Lottery" back in grade school and then last year I read her novel The Haunting of Hill House. Loved them both!

Ohh, The Lottery is amazing, IMO, and I think I've read The Haunting of Hill House. I love them, as well.

I was very good. I enjoyed it. A lot of mental issues going on, psychological. I like those types of books which is why I absolutely love Shutter Island. That is one of the best novels I have read in a while. I believe I gave it five stars and we know how stingy I am with stars.

Life Expectancy is a hoot J.S. It is one of my favorite Koontz books. I also love Relentless, I read them both at least once a year.
