Allison, Jamie and I have decided that you can use a book from your school year challenge list if you haven't already read it. I know what you mean because I didn't want to have two separate groups of books to read.

i love participating in these challenges, because i always discover so many books, and i enjoy trying to fit books into different categories, but when you can't double up, it gets tedious and loses some of its fun.
I am changing my classic in my challenge to Dracula, which I read over my spring break, so I should have 5 more points for that.I also just changed my book for female as a main character to Got You Back by Jane Fallon and book in the last 5 years to The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao.
Jamie/Lori- I changed my name in my settings because there were 2 Lindas in my YA challenge. Hope this is okay. Right now I have a total of 135 and you can update my name to be Linda Grace so that it doesn't get too confusing. Thanks!
Jamie or Lori... is it ok if I watch a TV show instead of a movie for the fourth 10-point challenge? Probably a silly question, but I'm trying to fit the books I've read since January into the challenge categories. :) Thank you!
R, even though it wasn't specifically stated, Jamie and I were thinking that people would only use books that they've read since joining the challenge, rather than find books they've read in the past 4 months that would fit. It's more fair to the people who joined the challenge in the beginning and have been reading specifically for the challenge (or choosing not to). Sorry for any inconvenience.

Lori is right. The point of the challenge was to find books to specifically read for the challenges..not try to just fit books in along the way..because what is the fun in that? I apologize though..it wasn't expressly stated..and that is my fault as it was the first try of doing a challenge. However, the Summer challenge will be starting soon if you want to have a fresh jump at that one.
Ahh I see, sorry about that! Thanks for the clarification. I guess I'll join in with the summer challenge then. :)

One more day until the summer challenge categories are posted. Are you (aside from Tahleen who was BORN ready) ready?
I'm ready and excited. Hoping to finish my books today so I can plan my next books. I hadn't really expected to get so into the challenge except I realized that it is a great way to get through my TBR's and read books I would have never read otherwise.
I'm excited! Will we still keep doing this challenge as well?
I'm thinking about just dropping my school year challenge and focusing on the summer one when we start.
Liz and Lynn, We're still keeping the school year challenge. You're allowed to use books (as long as you haven't already read and marked them off for the school year challenge) for both if they'll fit, so you won't necessarily be reading a bunch of books.
Ahh, but I want to read a bunch of books! I guess I'll just have to see how similar I wind up making them.
You definitely don't have to use the same books, but it's an option because some people might end up having to choose between them.I can't wait until Jamie and I post the list of categories! I'm anxious to see what people choose!
I will try to use as many as I can for both, though I think summer challenge will capture much more of my attention because it is shiny and new!

I was all for going ahead and posting it yesterday afternoon without a huge announcement to see how many people just happened upon it. But Jamie was at work and I thought she might kill me. Plus, we do have a couple of things to iron out before we post the list.
