Brantley (bditto39) | 9 comments I didn't have much time today, but here's what I got done in the little time I had...

Day one progress:

The Ball and the Cross: 23 pages
Saint Chrysostom's Homilies on Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, Thessalonians, Timothy, Titus and Philemon: Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathe: 4 pages

Total: 27 pages

message 13: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kielianne) | 40 comments updated my day one here Worked all day then fell asleep during my planned reading time so day one wasn't as successful as I'd hoped. Oops

message 14: by Nadine (new)

Nadine | 252 comments Day 1: Saturday
Darynda Jones: First grave on the right 121 pages
Darynda Jones: Second grave on the left 169 pages
(290 pages)

Books finished:
Darynda Jones: First grave on the right (121 pages had been left)
Overall pages: 290

I knew it, the ending of "First grave on the right" was too good and too catchy not to read part 2 straight afterwards, so my carefully laid marathon plans have already been shaken up. ;-) But I don't mind. I often feel like finishing one book leads to another, often in a less obvious way than reading part 2 of a series. I often feel like staying in the genre of the book I just read or the country or feel drawn to my next book because the one I just finished guided me there.

I love this book! I seldom cry when reading a book, but this book really had me crying at the end when I was reading Lane's letters. It is a beautifully written book about real human characters. I love the way the relationship evolves between Lane's mother and Maddie. I, too, want to read everything Kristina writes.

we're closing in on the end of day 2 of the RAT...how is everyone looking??

I finished up another in progress book that I had - mostly because its due back at the library today and I couldn't renew it because it had other holds on it

message 43: by Nadine (new)

Nadine | 252 comments I am pretty addicted to my books during this readathon, so it is easy to dedicate some time to reading. I hope once I finished my current book the third and latest release I will find something that captures me equally. I am a slow reader though, especially when reading in English and not my first language German, so I try not to look to closely at how much more you got done so far ;-). But it is about the fun and about making an effort to read more than in "normal times", so I don't mind too much. :-)

LOL! Nahh, it's just that I finished one book at midnight, and then I wasn't sleepy (summer has completely messed up my sleeping schedule). So I continued reading Firelight and it was so good that I wasn't even tired at 4. So I turned on the TV and watched it for an hour. And apparently I fell asleep while I was flipping channels lol :)

Let me know how you like Madame Tussaud! Someone told me it was really good, and, as I'm a French Rev. history junkie, I really want to read it :)

I am currently about half way through it. But it has taken me awhile I keep picking it up then get distracted by another book. I am enjoying it though, although I know little to nothing about the French revolution so that may be why I am not flying through the book. If that's a time period you are into I'm sure you'd love this book (based on the first half anyways lol).
