Hi Folks, Lauren and I finished our Buddy Read The Chief, and I just finished Whitney, My Love.Liked both. I have the newer edition of Whitney, and I wonder what the difference is between that and the original? Anyone?

@ Penney So glad you liked it! So many laugh out loud parts! Tina Fey kicks ass!
@ Lauren finally read Whitney, My Love, thanks to your rec, glad I did, it's been on my list for tooo long! Now I know what all the controversy is about! :)

Hi Sandy, I finished Burnt Offerings on 8/14/12 I give it *** It is not my favorite in the series but it does move the story along. I'm hoping the next in the series is better if not I might be reluctant to go on with it. I had heard that the series flounders a bit and then gets better again. So now I've started From Dead to Worse. Looking forward to getting back into this series.
Finished my buddy read with Ashley of
I gave it 3 stars - it was okay for a YA novel but I think we both wished it was better. I'm glad I read it though!

glad you enjoyed it.

Changeless by Gail Carriger 8/15 ★★★★
Flat-Out Sexy by Erin McCarthy (Buddy Read with Pollyanna) 8/19 ★★★★
The Gamble by Krsten Ashley (Buddy Read with Skandia) 8/10 ★★★★★
I finished my Buddy read with Emily for
and gave it ★★★1/2 it was an okay read for me I felt that the author has written better books than this one.
Irina wrote: "I finished my Buddy read with Emily for

Hi Dee! I've finished reading No Mercy. It was very good, I gave it 4 stars. I really loved Mercy, she reminded me of Jennifer Estep's Gin Blanco. I liked the fact that she was cold-hearted when she defended her family; I really felt for her loss and the twist at the ending was a very nice touch although I had my doubts regarding her sister's lover. I took off a star because the male characters didn't impress me that much and I would've liked more emotional depth in her relationship with Dawson.I also checked the Friday Harbor series although I haven't started it with Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor. I read instead Rainshadow Road and Dream Lake. Loved them both. I'll probably get to the first book before the 4th one is released :) You were right, LK's contemporaries are as good as her HR's :D

I had completely forgotten the plot from the first book, so I wish she had recappe..."Suzanne, I'm really sorry that you didn't like Archangel's Kiss. This series is mostly a hit on GR; at least I'm happy that you enjoyed Bone Crossed :)
Glad you enjoyed Layla - her relationship with Dawson was a criticism I have as well and hope to see more depth in the future books
I just finished my first PIFM book :
! I loved it! I really enjoy when you are reading through a book and all of a sudden it is so obvious that you can relate to it. D.J- Thank you! It was a great pick! I have started
, and even though I am only 4 chapters in, I can tell it is going to be quite steamy!
I read the Book Thief and gave it 3 stars. While I did enjoy the story I didnt enjoy the way the author wrote it.
Finished Bared to You with Susan. 4 Stars. I really enjoyed the craziness that is the relationship between Eva and Gideon.
I have finished Easy. I loved it! I also finished my second buddy ready with Rishka. We read Kiss an Angel. I was not a fan. Vi, did you still want to read Ready Player One for a buddy read?
Hi Brett, I just came back from my trip and I'm good to go. How about we start it on Thursday, 23 August? WIll it work for you?
Hello, Dee! I wanted to say that I finished yesterday Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor and it was wonderful. Old style romance, I loved the idea of two guys hovering over a six year old girl and talking to her about fairies. I have to say, my favourite brother still remains Alex :) I enjoyed the series very much!
Kami wrote: "I finished Spider's Bite by Jennifer Estep. I liked it a lot and gave it four stars. I am going to read Storm of Visions by Christina Dodd next."Glad you liked it. That series just keeps getting better.
I finished The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie. It was a good book, but I thought had some really slow parts. I gave it 3 stars. Thanks for the pics Nancy.
Vi wrote: "Hi Brett, I just came back from my trip and I'm good to go. How about we start it on Thursday, 23 August? WIll it work for you?"That works for me!:)
Diane ~Firefly~ wrote: "Carrie, I finished Quicksilver and really enjoyed it. Thanks for recommending."Glad you enjoyed it. :)
I read my second and third picks this month.Timbuktu is a gem! I likely wouldn't have read this on my own. Narrated by a dog, it's unique and sad!
Feast of Fools continues the Morganville vamps saga. Really liked this action-packed installment.

Wicked Ties was the first BDSM book I read and I was all agog with some of the scenes!

I see you did read 4 others I reccomended. I think that is a first that some one read more than one I suggested. I feel like I actually did good with the picks. I always wonder if I just didn't do so good or the other person was just to busy. Anyway glad you liked some of them.
KarenHI just wnted to let you know I finished reading Forever and a Day awhile back and I loved it. But I love all of her books
Also, I literally completely forgot we were going to do a buddy read! I'm so sorry, I've been hectic with moving and then school started :/ but I also ready Wild Heat. I thought it was okay, but at times I felt like it dragged. If you read it let me know!! Again so sorry my brain was just not on this website as I did my reading this last month.

I always try to read more than one, and I did like some of the other ones I've read. I'm pretty sure I'll continue the "Nice Girls" series. thanks again!

No problem, Lexa! It actually worked out for the best for me because it's been a pretty crazy month here too, and I probably would have had trouble fitting the buddy read in anyway. I'm glad you liked Forever and a Day - I'm hoping to get to it sometime next month, or possibly the end of this month - not holding my breath for that to happen, though! I'm a big Jill Shalvis fan, too - never met one of her books that I didn't really like.
Hey Charlotte, I've been trying to read Catch-22 but I can't get into it so I am going to start Frostbite on Friday, thanks for recommending Catch 22 though I've had it for ages so at least I finally tried to read it.
I finished
and I loved it!! I was up until 12:30 am finishing it last night. This book has been on my TBR forever and I am glad I finally read it! It is a great story!
Hi Leslie, finally finished one of my PIFM books
LOVED it don't know why I waited so long. Found that I could borrow ebooks from the Library too ... too easy. Thanks for the nudge.

I loved this book and the next one is good as well but very different. And I agree, borrowing ebooks from the library is the best. I never have a late fee anymore!!
Melissa, I finished my second pick, Wild Heat. I really enjoyed it! It was my first book by this author and it won't be my last! Thanks for picking it. I don't think I'll get to any more picks this month, this has been one of my slowest reading months in a long time!
Macwolf01[Elise}-- I just finished my third book this month, [book:Copper Beach|10889249] and liked it. I don't know that this one sucked me in as much as some of her other stories, but I enjoyed it. Thanks for the pick.
Melissa--it's VERY late in the month, but I ran out of reading material and just downloaded Quicksilver from the library if you want to do a buddy read.
I finished Slave to Sensation and really liked it! I've had it recommended several times and now I see why =)

I'm glad you liked it. I also enjoyed the series. Plus the covers are all pretty yummy =)

I'm glad you enjoyed it! That is a great series! I'm only 4 books in I believe, but I have yet to not like one of them!

I love everything by her as well! If I'm down about something, I always pick up one of her books because I know I'll be smiling after the first few pages.
I also finished
last night! :) I'm pushing out all the recommendations now since I slacked all month. ;)Read this month

Hey Rena!
I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the others as much, but I'm glad you really like About Last Night. Julie James is hilarious!!
