I like her Guys and Daughters/Famous Families series a bit more than the Wed in the West series.

Judy | 2571 comments I'm reading Far Gone by Laura Griffin by Laura Griffin. It is a standalone, but is also set in the Austin, Texas area as are her other books. I'm just getting started, but I think it is going to be good.

Judy | 2571 comments Anita wrote: "I have Far Gone by Laura Griffin on my TBR list and hope to read it this summer."
So far, this book is just as good as her others. I'm confused though why it isn't part of her Tracers series. Nathan and Alex Lovell Devereaux from Untraceable are secondary characters in this book and now the Delphi Center where Alex works is coming into play.

message 1318: by Anita (new)

Anita (anitanodiva) | 1619 comments Good question. I guess they didn't want it connected for some reason. For me, most of the Untraceable series reads like standalones. My first one was #8 and I didn't feel I missed anything by not reading the others first. Of course, I've gone back and read everything anyway.

message 1319: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I love books that seem like standalones. If I pick up a book that you need to read 1-whatever if I pick up 8 first I will lose it and probably not read 1-8.

Far Gone by Laura Griffin is on my TBR list also

I am halfway through this book, and I have to say it is pretty good. It is a Science Fiction Mystery. I am so tempted to read the end (my usual MO) This time I haven't

message 1322: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (gr-nancy-a) | 799 comments Read: For the Love of Pete by Julia Harper. It had some funny bits, like the two older Indian sisters-in-law who accidentally kidnapped two babies while snatching their precious spice (which they had paid for) back from a Mafia guy.
It ultimately was too busy and violent for me but I appreciated the humor she brought into the story.
The many gun battles, chase scenes and dead guys seemed to make it ideal for a guys movie.

message 1323: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments OK I peaked on the ending of Book of Days by James L. Rubart It was really spiritual and basically the way I believe. I am going back and listening to the middle part so I can connect a lot of what is going on. I guessed the bad guys in the book, so no surprises. Listening to the end of the book has allowed me to go at a slower pace and I can start on Heartbreaker and Exposed and just listen to the book while I am doing other things like cleaning house or driving.

Janeiowa | 5009 comments I didn't think it was possible, but I seem to have reached the bottom of my TBR pile on my IPAD. I have a couple authors I want to read, but I'm on the Library's WL. I've become more "frugal" lately with used-to-be "autobuys" since many don't live up to previous books by that author.

In the meantime, I've been re-reading some books I thought were 4 and 5 star reads...and I'm working my way through the books I have by Alicia Hunter Pace. I just finished her wonderful novella Nickolai's Noel. Now on to her others.

message 1325: by Anita (last edited Apr 06, 2016 09:23AM) (new)

Anita (anitanodiva) | 1619 comments If I live to be 100, I don't think I'll ever see the bottom on my TBR pile! I have an endless supply of books from the library and there are enticing goodies popping up on NetGalley all the time. My list of autobuys keeps expanding.

I'm taking a break from romantic-suspense. My last two books were heavy on the martyr heroine. Exposed (Tracers #7) by Laura Griffin and Nothing To Fear (Romantic Suspense, #4; Chicago, #3) by Karen Rose . I'm reading something fun right now. Planning for Love (Aisle Bound, #1) by Christi Barth by Christi Barth.

I agree with you completely...there's always more new books, new writers, and the additions to the TBR are always less than the subtractions so it is ever increasing. I also have to alternate my reading habits between heavy books and "lite" books.

Becky ♡The Bookworm♡ (mckennamuse) | 138 comments I'm currently reading:

Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles, #2) by Marissa Meyer with The Hubsters and LOVING it! I had no clue that I was missing out on spaceships and cyborgs!

Also reading:

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1) by Sarah J. Maas and Safe in His Arms (Under Texas Stars, #2) by Colleen Coble

Safe in His Arms by Colleen Coble is 2nd in the Under Texas Stars series and is very good historical western romance. I love the suspense and mystery she adds to her stories. It's Christian romance, without being 'fire and brimstone' or 'in your face' with religion. It's a refreshing change.

Janeiowa | 5009 comments I'm about finished with Bella Andre's new one about the New York Sullivans, cousins of the earlier series about the San Francisco and then the Seattle Sullivans. Now That I've Found You Now That I've Found You (New York Sullivans, #1; The Sullivans, #15) by Bella Andre

I loved the other two series, but this first one in the NY series....uh... not overwhelmed yet.

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I love Claudia Connor also. I know she used to be pretty active in our group, however she has gotten really busy with her books and promoting them. I miss her.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 1619 comments Her stories just tear your heart out and Worth It All is no different. Emotional, rewarding, sweet and wonderful.

message 1342: by Dee (new)

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I thought I had that one, but I didn't. I do have her other books, so I am going to have to get it after the first of the month. Sunday is my Mom's 90th birthday. I am going to Tucson to see her, and treat her to movies, dinner, and a surprise birthday party. Several of her sister and most of her grandchildren are coming down. It is going to be a costly weekend, and way too close to the end of the month.

Dee Sauter (indeathaddict) | 7583 comments I loved your review, Anita. Well actually, as I have said before, you are one of my go-to people to read a review. How did you get to be a reviewer?

message 1349: by Anita (new)

Anita (anitanodiva) | 1619 comments Jonetta helped me get started with NetGalley. I took me a while to figure it out, but once I did it works great. Some publishers don't approve you unless you have a blog or write for a publication, but I get more than enough books to keep me busy. There is also a NetGalley site here on Goodreads. Those people are hardcore with hundreds of books at a time on approval.

The web site for NetGalley is https://s2.netgalley.com/
