So would I, reading that. Not to mention the aid he can bring to Sydney when she goes off witch-hunting this evil sister of Jacklyn Terwilliger. He can just block all the spells with that awesome new power, combined with spirit... He might become a warlock haha

It would probably make him go crazy inventually but what the hell, you only live once, unless your Jill/Rose and get brought back to life. :P

Angela Chandana wrote: "Here's another question: should Sydney end up with Adrian? I've heard from a couple people who say that they hope Richelle Mead adds a new hot guy to the mix 'cause their bored of Adrian."

No NO They need each other. I hope that she dosen't do that. I want Sydeny to want Adrian for all the reason that he wants her for.

message 154: by Sandra (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sandra Hmm, he's already a good kind of crazy... Anymore would not be good. But as he now has telekinesis (bestowed to him by you), wouldn't he be able stop him self from going crazy? He should be as I'm almost ready to call him 'all powerfull' ...
Book #5 Adrian defies Dracula (place your bets please)

Hmm, still I wouldn't want to be shadow-kissed lol
Doesn't seem like a whole lot of fun for both of them haha ;)

Mikaela Errowyn wrote: "I love Rose as much as the next person, but this series is about sydney not Rose. In my opinion I think if she adds in Rose in to much it will take away from sydney."

yeh i kinda agree

message 156: by Sandra (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sandra Ursula the sea witch wrote: "i agree with Angela. sydney and adrian need each other. maybey sydney is scared of having an open reletionship with any one."

I think there's no maybe about it. She is scared - for all the right reasons. Re-education doesn't like fun. Look at what it did to Keith! And he was no 'vamp-lover'... If she was caught in a relationship, she's be fair game to all of the Alchemists.

And Sydney has enough on her plate with her unlocking magic and all. But I think this Marcus and Adrian both will help her cope with it and create new (humours) tensions between them.

Mikaela wrote: "Errowyn wrote: "I love Rose as much as the next person, but this series is about sydney not Rose. In my opinion I think if she adds in Rose in to much it will take away from sydney."

I thought about that. In Bloodlines when Sydney and Rose briefly see eachother, I thought it was rather strange, because of the different POV. But that's my opinion. It's good that Rose isn't added frequently, tho an encounter where Sydney and Rose could hug as friends in a future book is welcome - just to see how far Sydney has come.

I think she will be the ultimated Alchemist - even is she can leave them - possessing magic, being around vampires and damphirs and not being affraid of them , be being aware that every one plays a crucial part in a future yet to come

message 157: by Sandra (last edited Aug 20, 2012 12:07AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sandra I wouldn't be so soon to dismiss it. I really think it has potential (And that not because I really want to see them together hehe, obviously I do)

I think the difference is made very clear what and how she feels, when you compare the 'thing' she had with Brayden, compared to Adrian.
That kiss they shared, was the one she was hoping to get from Brayden.
Having him being a vamp en being in love for the first time... But I'm sure as hell hoping it doesn't end up in a romeo or juliette kind of thing.
But at this point there's not telling what could happen.

Let's just hope that their friendship is powerfull enough to get through it. Rather have them being close friends then not be near eachother at all ;)

message 158: by Sandra (last edited Aug 20, 2012 12:35AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sandra Then we do agree... I'm not suggesting they are flying and being all over eachother in The Indigo Spell, they need to focus on their friendship first.

Although I hated the character of the ex-alchemist Marcus in the beginning, I'm really starting to believe (hope) that he can smooth things over since he is already there, where she 'longs' to be. In a gray area instead of the black and white one that she grew up in. Fighting the rules, sticking up for herself more... takes gut's!
Makes waiting for the Indigo Spell all the harder tho :)

message 159: by V (new) - rated it 4 stars

V I miss Rose and Dimitri's relationship. Their relationship was one of the best. They understood each other completely and they were totally attracted to each other. And since I know Richelle Mead is an amazing author, she will bring the attraction back in the third book, but it's just not the same.

Plus I miss Rose. Her fiery attitude was the best. I'll even let you in n a secret... When I first started the VA series, I wanted to be like Rose. I wanted to let everyone know that I was that strong and able to stand up for myself. still do.
Anyhoo..Rose stands up for herself, not afraid of stepping on someones toes and Sydney tip toes around these men (i.e. her father and Keith)who like to bully her. And that just ticks me off.

message 160: by Sandra (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sandra LOL, Bolt to say the least - And then she stood up to Abe, and I was going: "YES!" I thought it was impressive and the fact that Abe took notice of her standing up for her self left me feeling pretty good :)

Hope we haven't seen the last of Abe tho, I like him :)

message 161: by S.L.J. (new) - rated it 4 stars

S.L.J. It's easy to write someone that is 'tough' and 'fiesty' from the get-go. It's alot more difficult writing a character that starts off weak and slowly builds strength. The character development is much more important and fun to read.

In that respect, Sydney reminds me alot of Neville Longbottom from Harry Potter.

I'm just hoping that Sydney's character development doesn't take a nose-dive like Rose's did in the later novels. Sydney's got too much potential for it to go to waste.

Don't pull a Rose Hatherway Sydney! Stay awesome!

message 162: by Sandra (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sandra That (!) would be so much fun to read :D

message 163: by Sandra (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sandra S.L.J. wrote: "Don't pull a Rose Hatherway Sydney! Stay awesome! ."

THat just made me LOL ... So true tho :)

message 164: by V (new) - rated it 4 stars

V When she told us about her sister being raped, I wanted to hit Keith. And when she told us what she did to get back at him, I smiled. I was like, "Yes! I hoped she was going to do something!".
Sydney is a work in progress.. She still needs to stop letting her dad walk all over her but that might be in one of the later books. I hope so..

message 165: by Sandra (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sandra Ursula the sea witch wrote: "in one of the later books shes gona use a freeze spell on him and say "by the way, im dating a vanpire.""

OMG! That would be the coolest thing ever :)
Or not freeze him, maybe hold him suspeded in the air, to show how powerfull she really is.

Hmm, nah I don't think she will use a spell. I think she will be strong enough to hold her own. Tell him what she thinks of him and just say: 'By the way, I'm dating a vampire. Just thought you should know.' As she strolls away and out of his life.

message 166: by Pamela (new) - rated it 4 stars

Pamela I want little dhampirs from Sidney and Adrian. LOL. they are perfect for each other. that's all, this series are 6 books, we are in the beginning, everything can happpen.

Pamela S.L.J. wrote: "Baylor wrote: "Why do people hate Rose???????????????"

Im with you, she sucks. And she played with Adrian, i hate when people do that, play with your feelings

message 168: by Sandra (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sandra Guessing we are already plotting the ending of book 6 :p
Are you paying Richelle, the fans want Damphirs lol

Would be awesum, but still, she would be 19, a little early for kids hehe. I don't see it happening ;)

message 169: by Sandra (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sandra Sure Sydney is responsible and yes Adrian would be wonderfull around kids...

But I also know that Richelle got a lot of complains adressing Sydneys food issues. Having had the same issue growing up, I don't mind it. But people were all 'its like Richelle condones it'...
Don't think she wants adding getting kids at 19 to that one.
;)
But hey, what do I know lol
I'm in for all the surprises Richelle wants to throw our way

message 170: by Sandra (last edited Aug 21, 2012 01:58AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sandra I agree on the food disorder.
Took me 9 years to get through it, so I kind of got it when Sydney and Rose were at the diner and she was shuffing her food around. That kind of hit home.
Taking it up a notch in Bloodlines and being openly call out on it by Adrian, I couldn't help but smile.
Then again, most of us haven't got someone around saying 'I want your body to be as healthy and amazing as you mind' ... But for me it was really recconisable.

Addressing Anorexia isn't easy (people/teens 'do it' for different reasons- I did), so this might indeed be a good way of going about it :)

Still don't know about the pregnancy thing tho lol

message 171: by Sandra (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sandra And that is a good thing...
I'm sorry to hear that you too had difficulties and having the too close to home feeling.
I actually had a friend doing that. We never really got eachother why we did the things we did. She really thought it was silly for me to 'want to starve myself' and I had this weird feeling she wanted to kill herself all the time, which she didn't. Well, you get it. But we understood the reasoning behind it all. Escape, like you say.

I really hate seeing those pro-anorexia sites in the air, or the 'if you don't eat we'll make you eat counter treatment' ... I climbed out of it all by myself, and to this day I'm proud of myself, eventho I sometimes have small relapses.

I think that is a good part to focus on, the proudness of getting yourself out of it, being supported but not forced. Force is making people headstrong.

message 172: by S.L.J. (new) - rated it 4 stars

S.L.J. Sydney seems to be getting past her eating disorder. She made alot of progress in TGL and in the first chapter of TIS she drinks OJ (which she says has too much sugar in TGL) without a second thought. I don't think it'll be an issue for much more of the series.

It'll be nice to see Sydney fill out a little. :P

message 173: by Sandra (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sandra Yup :)

Sure looks that way.
With the slushies, I really wanted her to just say "I DID drink liquid sugar". But I was smiles all the way thinking 'good for her' (Still wonder if Adrian looking at her knows she was lying) Shame she backed out of the deal with him when he gave her the Gelatto, but understandable.

So looking forward to TIS, seeing/reading how it all turns out. OJ rules :)

Sandra Ursula the sea witch wrote: "i agree bout the force making it worse. i read a magazine article bout a girl who was admited to a phsych ward for somthing but ended up developin anorexia and trying to kill herself. but somtimes proffesional help is the only souloution "

Oh, that's just painfull to read.
Stigma's are the worst. They cling to you for years. I know how that feels, hun.
When I don't eat, people start to look funny at me, and I can guess what they are thinking...

I was about to put my history here, but I don't think that is wise, seeing as this is a book topic and not a health class lol

But you know you are strong, and if you ever want to have a person to just talk to, I'm here if you want ;)

message 175: by Sandra (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sandra Bad!

Seriously, if we are having all these impossible relationships forming, this is one in the making with Princess Jill!

Besides, I think Eddie deserves no less then a princess ;)

message 176: by S.L.J. (new) - rated it 4 stars

S.L.J. It would have been a good choice if he never stood a chance with Jill. I would have been proud of him for bowing out with pride and moving on but Jill has started to notice him so it's probably not going to end well.

message 177: by Sandra (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sandra Sadly I have to agree...
But one can always hope for the best.

message 178: by Sandra (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sandra Still, Adrain calls him mini-Dimitri... Personally I really hope RM is not going to actually do THAT to his character. Eddie didn't really get a chance to vent to anyone about what happened in VA.
Angeline will understand him better than Jill, for sure.
I'm just hoping he get's a chance to find a little part of himself back before Mason died. He just needs to smile way more then he does right now. So what ever girl makes it happen is the one he should be with.

message 179: by Stacey (new)

Stacey O'driscoll ROSE ROCKS!!!! I love her, and honestly Sydney annoys me. When she was in t
He va series with rose and everyone she was brilliant, I looked for ward to reading about her... But when the books from her point of view, she's.... Boring, she's not the same, overly descrtive, to in control alllll the time, she's just not a main character I really want to read. As a main character she's so different... But the bloodlines series aren't bad they're okay, and I certainly am not giving Sydney as much credit as she deserves, I enjoy reading her. It she's just not as enjoyable as when she was in va.

Sydeny is probably boring because you're so used to Rose and she was waaaaaaay different from Sydney.

It's the other way around for me. I hated Rose in the last few VA books but I loved the side characters like Adrian, Eddie, Christian, Mia, Tasha, Sydney etc. so Bloodlines is a very welcome change for me. :)

I liked Tasha all the way up to the last book. Hated her right after I realized what she had done.

message 184: by Sandra (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sandra I would love to see Christian and Lissa in a future book of bloodlines :) And if Dimitri and Rose do their jobs good, they'll stay in the background where they belong as guardians :p

I still love Tasha!
She did what she felt neccesary.
Eventho she made a descission without having all the facts.

message 185: by S.L.J. (last edited Aug 22, 2012 12:42PM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

S.L.J. Tasha rules. She's a bit exreme but that's whats cool about her and besides, after the law Tatiana passed...I would have murdered her to. I really hope Tasha shows up in the Bloodlines series.

message 186: by Sandra (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sandra True, but we know now that Tatiana passed that law, to prevent an even worse fate for Damphirs all together. Which she was shocked to learn about...

But Lissa's on the thrown now Which she wouldn't be if it wasn't for Tasha), so I'm just waiting for those better times to happen, how ever slowly that might come about.

When the Spanish Armarda were threatening to invade England, Queen Elizabeth arrived on the front lines wearing a silver breatplate and gave one of the most famous speechs of her reign.

Now that is a queen.

Tatiana decided to use children as bullet shields because she was a coward. You can say it was the lesser of two evils but it was still evil. She needed to be shoved off the throne and Tasha was the only one with the balls to do so.

The scarred, fire using, kung-fu beauty will always be one of my fav characters.

message 194: by Sandra (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sandra Haha, you like the dutch accent too? It's nothing like the Polish ;) (I've got a polish sis in law, so I would know)

Speaking of dutch, RM sometimes uses dutch names it seems. Like Jacklyn Terwilliger. Makes me smile when I come across it :)

I've dated a Mauroi guy for 10 years. Always made a show when preforming the Haka. Quite an impressive thing to see :)

Sandra I don't think pusking is required :)
Love will work it out on it's own... They both need time and patience with each other. From the quotes I read out of the Indigo Spell, I'm glad they are getting back on speaking terms - which (in the first chapter) was not so much the case. Waiting is hard tho.
