message 201: by Em Lost In Books (new)

Em Lost In Books (emlostinbooks) Nope. I haven't heard of this.

I will recommend Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay

message 202: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (sanlema) Not exactly what I generally pick to read, but I would give it a try.

What about Happy Talk: A Novel by Richard Melo

message 203: by Someoneyouknow (new)

Someoneyouknow | 646 comments It's probably not my cup of tea. I usually don't read books with supernatural themes.

I recommend Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay.

message 204: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (sanlema) Just added to my TBR list.

I'd recommend And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini

message 205: by Someoneyouknow (new)

Someoneyouknow | 646 comments It looks interesting and I've really enjoyed A Thousand Splendid Suns by Hosseini, so I might check it out.

I recommend The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan.

message 206: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (sanlema) Never heard about it, but looks like something I would give it a try.

What about The Tower, The Zoo, and The Tortoise by Julia Stuart?

Someoneyouknow, don't be fooled for the mention of a zombie in Happy Talk's summary. It has nothing to do with supernatural themes. It's a great book, essentially in dialog style. Something unique that worth a try

Sounds cute - maybe!

I highly recommend This Rough Magic by Mary Stewart

Karen M | 1956 comments Read it long ago and loved it. I think it may have been my first Mary Strewart.

I won this in a FirstReads giveaway and I highly recommend it. Beautifully descriptive language gets me every time. I don't give out all that many five star ratings but this book so earned it. A List of Offences by Dilruba Z. Ara

message 210: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendee08) | 6 comments I recommend A Hundred Summers by Beatriz Williams!

message 211: by Sandra (new)

Sandra (sanlema) The List of Offences has been in my TBR list for a while. Hope to read it soon.

And A Hundred Summers doesn't sound like something I would pick by myself.

I'll recommend The Quickening by Michelle Hoover

message 212: by Heather (new)

Heather (heatherromarobibaro) Finishing up Life After Life by Kate Atkinson at the moment... Fantastic read! Highly recommend.

message 213: by Lorraine (new)

Lorraine (saanichlori) Yes, I've read it and agree wholeheartedly. But a lot of people dislike it too. Too bad!

I just read 11/22/63 by Stephen King, a look back at life in the late fifties, early sixties, and an attempt to prevent Kennedy's assassination. Highly recommended.

message 214: by K (new)

K (kaleighpi) I really enjoyed 11/22/63.

I recommend Rules of Civility byAmor Towles.

message 215: by Annalie (new)

Annalie That looks very interesting! It's on my TBR shelf now!

Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. It's the best book I've read in 2014 (so far)

message 216: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Johnson (michellecurates) | 5 comments I say yes. That looks great. Added it TBR.

The Day the Babies Crawled Away

message 217: by Debbie (new)

Debbie Hadn't heard of it before but now it's definitely on my To Read List.

Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman

message 218: by Anne (new)

Anne | 624 comments Neverwhere...such an awesome book, I adored it!

In the same vein, I recommend Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch

message 219: by Anne (new)

Anne | 624 comments I regret to say that I don't enjoy the wordiness of classical authors. It's a personal failing.

The Country of Ice Cream Star

message 220: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Madrid | 329 comments This is a tough book to read but I would try it.

Rogue Lawyer by John Grisham

message 221: by Anne (new)

Anne | 624 comments That was a fun book!

I recommend Uprooted by Naomi Novik

message 222: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Madrid | 329 comments Interesting. It isn't what I normally read but I would try it.

The Liar by Nora Roberts
