2012 July Monthly Reading Challenge - Participants Thread
Hi, I'm new! I just joined the group a few months ago and have finally decided to participate in a challenge! This one looks awesome, but since I'm kind of a busy bee I'm gonna air on the side of caution and only do 4 maybe 5 books. I'll see how much time I have and try and squeeze in the 5th book.1. J is for July: Grimm's Fairy Stories by Jacob Grimm
2. Happy Birthday: (will choose as I go)
4. 7th Month: 50 Shades Freed by E.L. James *FINISHED on 07/09*
5. Fourth of July: The Mind Readers by Lori Brighton (has a blue cover)
10. Reader's Choice: Phoenix Island by Charlotte Paul

Thank you :-) I wanted to join a book club, but there aren't any in my area. I think this website is great way of filling my book club void and I don't have to leave my couch or get dressed LOL

(I frequently find I don't care for the books chosen by my local book club, I actually only read about one in four.)
2012 July Monthly Challenge5/9 Completed
01. 'J' is for July: We liked it so much in June, lets do it again!! Read a book that starts with 'J' or by an author whose first or last name begins with 'J'.
Animal Magnetism by Jill Shalvis
OR
Instant Gratification by Jill Shalvis
02. Happy Birthday!: Read a book from a July birthday celebrant's GR bookshelf whose name/nickname starts with the same letter as yours. If no one has the same letter, choose someone with the closest letter to yours alphabetically.
Happy Birthday Brenda! (July 4)
03. Geography: Read a book whose author, character or setting is from Saudi Arabia (Middle East). Or because Saudi Arabia has all of these, read a book about a monarchy (royal family), oil, or desert.
Skip
04. 7th Month: Lets face it, not a lot of series are seven books long. Since seven is a prime number, read a book that is a prime number in a series or has a prime number of words in the title. For those of you aren't math geeks like me, a prime number is a number greater than one divisible only by itself and one - 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13... (Yeah, this is practically a freebie!)
05. Fourth of July: Read a book with a Firecracker Heroine or a red, white and/or blue cover.
06. Tour de France/Summer Olympics: Read a book that features athletes or an athletic event, takes place outdoors or is set in France or England.
07. All or Nothing Day (July 26): Read a stand alone book, one that is not part of a series or connected to any other book.
It's All Greek to Me by Katie MacAlister
OR
River of Eden by Glenna McReynolds
08. I Forgot Day (July 2): Read a book that has been on your to-read list so long you forgot about it.
09. Ugly Truck Day (July 20): Read a book about a cowboy, construction worker, mechanic, set on a ranch, involves cars/trucks, or one that just has a cover with a guy that looks like he was out working on his truck. ~sigh~
Summer Nights by Susan Mallery
OR
Morning Comes Softly by Debbie Macomber
10. Reader's Choice: Read any book of your choice.
The Bride and the Beast by Teresa Medeiros
