message 410: by Maritza (new)

Maritza | 18 comments @Catherine....don't what "A light in the window"? Don't read the prequel? Or yes read it?

message 411: by Catherine (new)

Catherine Richmond | 29 comments Oops - typing too fast. Don't miss Julie Lessman's "A Light in the Window" - it's the prequel to the O'Connor stories. Even though all of us faithful Daughters of Boston readers know Marcy and Patrick end up together, "A Light in the Window" is so well written, so suspenseful, I couldn't put it down!

message 412: by Almenia (new)

Almenia Logan | 1 comments Currently reading "Church Folk" by Michele Andrea Bowen. Nice romantic take on the struggles of ministers and women in church. Though many think of ministers as being of the 'holier than thou' species, they are human also and do have the same desires of all of us. It's how they choose to act of these desires as men of God that's important.

message 413: by Catherine (new)

Catherine Richmond | 29 comments Almenia, "Church Folk" sounds a little like Jennifer AlLee's "The Pastor's Wife." At first I thought all pastor's wives need to read it, then I thought all church folk need to read it, then I thought we all need to read it and get real.

I loved it, it's my favorite of hers so far! There was a lot more spiritual warfare than the previous books and it almost got a little scary sometimes. I definitely never saw the twist coming. Okay gushing over =)
