K. | 96 comments I love Kate Daniels and Anita Blake. They are both strong feminine characters! I wish I could fight like these women!

I would have to say Elena Deveraux from Angels' Blood. She's awesome and she gets angel wings =)

1.Mercy Thompson
2.Jane Jamieson
3.Queen Betsy
4. October Daye
5.Kate Daniels
that is all!

message 4: by ☀Rachael☀ (new)

Tangled Speculation (TangledSpec) | 11 comments It's so hard to pick. Here's my current list:

1. Rachel Morgan
2. Kat Daniels
3. Mercy Thompson

I probably don't have to explain that they are all kick a** heroines. I think right now my favorite male character is Bones, but that can change depending on which series I've been reading lately.

Kaarinedm | 12 comments No one has been able to beat Barrons. JZB.. ah. lol. I read a lot, a lot.. so that means something. The Fever Series is my all-time favorite books ever. A close second is probably Adam Black (Highlander Series). As for females.. MacKayla Lane - she comes into her own, which I mightily respect.. I havent read the Merch Thompson books (but I just downloaded them from the library so I can keep this list updated)!

K. | 96 comments I'm with kaarinedm. Jericho is amazing!

Ela Female Protangoinists:
1) Definately, Mercy Thomspon
2) Kitty Norville
3) Kate Daniels?(but only in the later books: hated her in the first one)
There is also Anita Blake but I have issues with her physcotic tendencies...

message 9: by Ela (new)

Ela I just hated the whole first book, the endless descriptions were tedious but the main problem was that the book revolved solely aroun Kate, I just felt she needed to socialise more. She was too negative and melodramatic: irratating. Kate gets so much better in book three when she starts working with the Pack and the writing gets better too.
I thought that Kate wasn't a good enough character to carry the whole story herself unlike Mercy, Kitty and Anita.
I'm gonna stop talking now :D

message 10: by Breann (new)

Breann My favorite character has to be Barrons. I love him and his broody alpha ways. This was the first UF series I fell in love with and I don't know if there is another hero out there to compare! I read a lot, so you would think that I would have come across another hero to compete with Barrons' alpha-ness. But, alas, he is the ultimate alpha!

message 11: by ☀Rachael☀ (new)

☀Rachael☀ (jimbunni) Yeah I was wondering why everyone loved the Kate Daniels series after book one buuuuuut then I read book two and I got on the bandwagon!

message 12: by Jan (new)

Jan | 3 comments William Herondale is my favorite character ever in any book, I love him and his hatred of ducks!!! Lol. Oh William, u are the love of my life!!!!!

message 13: by K. (new)

K. | 96 comments I don't know who William is either....or why he would hate ducks...

message 14: by Ela (new)

Ela William Heronadale is the brooding male character from the Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare.
I think he's good but I'm not in love with him like Jan :D

I have issues with later Anita Blake, though I still read the books. She was more interesting before she became all about the magical sex drive.

message 17: by Christy (new)

Christy (christy_kennedy) | 19 comments Love, LOVE Kate Daniels(Kate Daniels novels) and Gin Blanco(Elemental Assassin series). Both women rock the UF world with lethal fighting skills, brains and slap-your-face snark and dialogue.

message 18: by C. Tripp (new)

C. Tripp | 1 comments A few of my favorites:
1 Harry Dresden
2 Queen Betsy
3 John Taylor
4 Mercy Thompson
5 Sookie Stackhouse
6 Anita Blake (prior to Incubus Dreams)

The list is much larger but Ill stop here.

3. Jace (Mortal Instruments)

Women:

“Remember when you tried to convince me to feed a poultry pie to the mallards in the park to see if you could breed a race of cannibal ducks?"

"They ate it too," Will reminisced. "Bloodthirsty little beasts. Never trust a duck.”

Sonea from The Black Magician Trilogy by Trudi Canavan. She is small but strong, clever and kick-ass. She really holds her own in a man's world and is unapologetic about her poor background or lack of training. She also saves the day and is just plain awesome :)

message 23: by Sidhe (new)

Sidhe Prankster (sidheprankster) | 2 comments I agree that Anita Blake was cool before she became a super-slutty demigoddess. Beyond that, here are some other favorite character:

Kaye Fierch from Holly Black's Tithe and Ironside because she's so normal, and yet so extraordinary.

Jilly Coppercorn from Charles de Lint's Newford novels, because she's strong, creative, kind, enduring, funny, cheerful, whimsical, magical, and (frankly) the sort of women most of us would like to be.

Siobhan Walkingstick, aka Joannie Walker, from
C. E. Murphy's Walker Papers series, because she's a believable, well developed character who is also a strong, kick-ass girl.

Coyote, aka Cody, from Charles de Lint's Newford novels, because he's a modernized trickster god who's a nice guy, even if he is a lusty, prankish, fiasco-prone loner.

Rhys Knight, aka Cromm Cruach, from Laurell K. Hamilton's Merry Gentry series because, let's face it, the idea of Lord Death being a hot immortal private eye with weaknesses for coffee and film noir is just awesome.

Joe Crazy Dog, aka Animandeg, also from Charles de Lint's Newford books, because he's the kind of guy you'd want to have a pint with, or just hang out with, but he's also the one guy you'd always want with you if you got stuck in the Otherworld.

Jodi McIsaac (jodimcisaac) I love Atticus from Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid Chronicles. He's funny, kind, hot - in other words, totally unbelievable but that's why I love fiction. =)
