Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments You okay, Jim?

Not seen you for a couple days.

message 1954: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments Hi Patti
Been away, had a couple of meetings over the weekend so I've been on the road travelling the length of our fair land. But I'm back now :)

Jim | 21813 comments Yep, finally I've arrived, I'm a romantic novelist, or at least a romantic short-story-ist
I've written one of the stories that go to make up the book. If you do buy it you'll be reassured to notice that there are competent writers contributing as well ;-)

Cannot find it on Goodreads but it's here on Amazon.

The following is Mary's book which is well worth buying :-)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Now you've got me confused, Jim.

But I can recommend Mary's book :~)

message 1957: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments Got me confused as well, mainly because I was copying so many web addresses and forgot which was which.

One comment I did have about my story

"It's romance Jim, but not as we know it" ;-)

message 1958: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Nothing wrong with dipping your toe in a new genre, Jim, or any other part of your anatomy. If you start writing for Mills & Boon, I suggest a pseudonym. What about Barbed-wire Cartilage?

Seriously, though, good luck with it.

message 1959: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8051 comments Ooo! Thanks for the recommendation. Jim, I enjoyed your 'romance' and I'll be reading that book. Nice going.

And David, thank you, too, for the recommendation.

As soon as it's published on Amazon I'll hit the new releases thread! ;-)

Congrats Jim. ;-)

Cheers

MTM

message 1960: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments I'll have to give serious thought to a name for when i start writing bodice rippers

message 1961: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Not going for my suggestion of Barbed-wire Cartilage then?

message 1962: by M.T. (last edited Jun 11, 2014 11:45PM) (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8051 comments Use your porn name, the name of your first pet plus the maiden name of your aunt: Jemima Castle in my case. Although my son's is a rather disappointing Chewbacca Fancourt Bell. Phnark.

message 1963: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Dusty Hibberd :~/

message 1964: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8051 comments Now that's class!

message 1965: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Should have used it as a pen name. It'd fit a cover easier.

message 1966: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments And covers a certain image.

Using MTM's system, I got Betty Tamerlaine.

Maybe I should head for the erotica section.

message 1967: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments I think maybe you should. A sure fire winner.

message 1968: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments 'Ben Park' is unlikely to set hearts fluttering is it :-(

message 1969: by David (last edited Jun 12, 2014 01:28AM) (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments No aunts named Dover...? No, that's already taken.

message 1970: by M.T. (new)

M.T. McGuire (mtmcguire) | 8051 comments Snortle, I love Betty Tamerlaine I'm sure she writes sex books. Phnark.

message 1971: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Lassie Smith is NOT going to start a new career in exotica!

message 1972: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments Lassie Smith ought to write Westerns

message 1973: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Yeee-haw! *slaps thigh and limps away*

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I get Simon Laurence, which is a bit better when tweaked to be Simone Laurens.

message 1975: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments That's a table dancer's name, GL.

Get writing

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I dance about as gracefully as a table, so that works...

message 1977: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I don't know any of my aunt's maiden names. :(

message 1978: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments So I guess I'm just Pinky.

What would a Pinky write?

message 1979: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments Patti (baconater) wrote: "So I guess I'm just Pinky.

Kiss and tell autobiography

message 1980: by David (new)

David Staniforth (davidstaniforth) | 7935 comments Something really scandalous, no doubt.

message 1981: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments The Art of Toe Sucking?

message 1982: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21813 comments I'm just a bit worried about Kath's limp

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Kath's limp what?

Kid's cartoons?

Dave has a guy called Pinky doing carpentry work for him!

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Gingerlily - Elephant Philosopher wrote: "Kath's limp what?"

Presumably he's called Pinky because he hasn't got one

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments Horace Laiho?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I don't know Will. I must ask - you have me curious now...

message 1989: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Perhaps his pinky is particularly perky. Never make assumptions.

message 1990: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Rosemary (the Fourth Plinth) wrote: "Horace Laiho?"

Pretentious literary fiction.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Pinky has a brain. I think.

message 1992: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Loved that cartoon.

Are you pondering what I'm pondering, Pinky?

I think so Brain. But how will we get chaps on the monkey?

message 1993: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments Patti (baconater) wrote: "Rosemary (the Fourth Plinth) wrote: "Horace Laiho?"

That's a superfluous adjective and I have been told off for using them by Kath.

message 1994: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Lol!

message 1995: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Adverb, dear. You've been told off for the adverbs!

message 1996: by Will (new)

Will Macmillan Jones (willmacmillanjones) | 11324 comments There's a difference?

*Ducks*

message 1997: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Ah. I'm beginning to see the problem. ;)

Rosemary (grooving with the Picts) (nosemanny) | 8590 comments LOL

Just wait till you see the bestseller by Horace Laiho on the shelves

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I'm now wondering whether to go with Simone Laurens or my alternative Pleasure DeVice.
