Cover to Cover Challenge discussion
Wow I just realized that that is today and I've been sitting on the couch reading since 8 am. Guess I need to start tallying now that it's 10.Currently reading:
I'm going to focus on clearing my over-full Currently Reading shelf, as I've fallen into a pattern of stalling out on various group reads that all piled up the same month.
I have a lot of books I'd like to work on in the next week. Here is a partial list:
,
,
,
,
,
,
,
,
I know I won't be able to finish them all, but I'd like to at least make some progress on most. Except for Nicolas Nickleby and On the Origin of Species, they are library books that are due in the next 1.5 weeks.
My goal is to finish 4 books this week. We will see how it goes.Book list:
A Conflict of Interest (2 hr 25 min left)
Hard Love (114-?)
Susannah's Garden (30-?)
The Tales of Beedle the Bard
The Art of Racing in the Rain
Emily and Einstein by Linda Francis Lee
Murder Takes Time by Giacomo Giammatteo
Iron House by John Hart
This time I don't have goals or plans... just get some reading done, day 1 has been pretty good so far.
Here's the begining to my list. I'm currently reading:
and
Other items on my list for this week that I hope to finish are:
and
This is probably the worst first R-A-T day I have ever had, because my daughter decided she is going to move into her new apartment this week. I spent more than 12 hours doing apartment-related shopping, installing, and organizing, so my reading time was really limited. Fortunately my husband did the driving, so I read a bit in the car. Will be back later with the page totals since I left two of my books in the car and am too tired to go outside to the car to get them to see how far I read!!
I am not feeling well today, so I didn't get much reading done since 12:01am.I started The Drop by *Michael Connelly and read off and on since the start time. It was about 5.5 hours. I read only 207 Pages today.
I decided to only do the week-long readathon, since I was feeling puny today. And I'm revising my goal: 3 or 4 books 1100 Pages.
I've decided on the day for my 24-hour reaading spree. From 4pm Friday to 4pm Saturday =) Can't wait

I will report back later on my progress. I was hoping to finish at least 7 books this week - at this rate, I will be lucky to finish one!!

I know a whole bunch of people- including everyone in the family but the baby girl- who got this horrible summer flu. We've all been sick for at least a week as it has caused a number of secondary infections- sinus infections, bronchitis, ear infections, etc. Just horrible.

Day 2 wasn't so great although I felt like reading a lot. The books I read yesterday were not so great. I read 3 books so far by Ildikó von Kürthy and though I enjoyed the first one (mostly because of the combination of story and little images, like an old phone when it is about a phone call or a odd looking dog when the story is about some dog at the moment) the others were just the same story with different names and settings. So this one is really annoying me big time.
I started "The Pace" to read something that doesn't annoy me, but somehow I feel like having read the same story before. (Twilight etc... etc... are they all copying Twilight or was Twilight already a copy of something?) The actual reason for the "mysterious but so cute and strangely being into the heroine guy" to be "special" is new and kind of interesting.
Are those authors just sitting down though... thinking... I want to write something like Twilight, but the vampire hype is over plus people are getting tired of it, so we now use... a werewolf, an angel, a greek god as the male hero? This time is it something less obvious though and I enjoy that fact.
Day 2 (Sunday)Book 1: The Client(88 pgs)
Book 2: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn(no progress)
Book 3: The Alchemist(no progress)
Book 4: Pick Your Poison (not started)
Pages today: 88
Pages Total: 101
I sure didn't get in a lot of reading yesterday (Sunday) as it seemed to be a day of errands and visiting cousins! Fun day, but not much progress. Probably worked to my advantage. After finishing Between Shades of Gray, I almost needed a break anyway. My goals are still to finish
on eBook and
on audiobook by the end.
I'm not getting any reading done at all as I'm moving my house. In between breaks, I read 1) 20 pages of Ivan Turgenev's Fathers and Sons.
2) 26 pages of Cao Xueqin's Dream of the Red Chambers.
Total of 46 pages.
I hope I can read more during the week. *Looks at massive pile of things lying around new house*. Nope doesn't look like it. :(
