Super excited that I just figured out how to reorganize the posts in the app. Yay for no longer scrolling through 3 years worth!

Hello - I'm Ange. I've been a long-time fan of Felicia's and a lurker here for forever. That said, I've only just decided to post and introduce myself. I've got two tiny kids, but they're just getting old enough that I may have some time to read some interesting stuff again. Hoping to try some new things via this group. :)
Ange.
Hey everyone! My name is Victoria. I've been stalking this group for sometime and decided it was about time to join. I'm a big fan of fantasy and only recently started getting into vaginal-fantasy.I went several years without reading much and when I restarted my reading frenzy last year, I found myself spending a lot of time on goodreads. Since I don't know too many people who love to read and discuss books as much as I do, I thought it was time to join a book group in order to meet others who love books just as much.
Hi! New to group and to Goodreads. Have had an ereader for a while and am online quite a bit but somehow resistant to joining. Finding that funny as I type it. Reading romance and sci fi since youth, but only discovered the fantasy/romance/scifi/supernatural combo genre a few years ago. I enjoy both more serious and socially relevant themes as well as humorous ones. Like both short stories and long fiction books. In the rest of my time: garden, preserve food, cook, write about what I'm cooking, and get paid to do good things in politics and socially conscious non profits. Terrible typist with great knife skills.
Hi everyone! I am new to the group but not new to Goodreads. This is my first book club experience on Goodreads, and I am so excited. I've always wanted to be in a bookclub, but never had friends that were interested. Plus I was always afraid that I wouldn't have anything to say when it comes to the books that would be brought up in discussion. Anyway, I have no idea what I am doing but I am very excited to get involved and meet new people.I have always been a BIG reader. I've never stuck to one genre - I love all kinds of books. That being said, I do try to cycle genres - historical fiction, romance, fantasy, mystery, memoir, and around and around.
In the rest of my time I am working at my first "big girl" job, planning my next adventure, gardening, and spending time with my family.
I can't wait to get reading & get involved.
Hello everyone! My name is Brandi and this is the first book club I've ever joined. =) My husband found the group and suggested it to me, since I'm an avid reader. After binge watching several hangouts, I now subscribe everywhere =D I've wanted to join a book club, but I have a tendency to devour books faster than my friends, so I wasn't sure it would work out. But I love hearing what everyone has to say about the books of the month (and whatever other fun topics happen to come up!) so I'm going to give it a try! Maybe this will force me to slow it down a bit and pay attention to the smaller details. =) I look forward to chatting with you!
Hi Everyone, I'm Kat Matthews. I'm a mom of two and love to read paranormal romance. I also just published my own Paranormal Romance. The first in a series. Xavier - Guardians of the Amphylon. I'm looking forward to new recommendations and new friends. http://www.amazon.com/Xavier-Guardian...
Hello, I'm Barbara. I discovered this group by reading the "About Author" page of Felicia's memoir. I love romance and fantasy and when you mix them together I am in heaven. Looking forward to making new friends here and reading some great(hopefully) books!
Hi! I am new to online book clubs, and VF is the most awesome community to join! I am also new to the SciFi and Fantasy genre but have always loved a good old romance novel. Felicia, thank you for creating VF & inspiring me to read fantasy books! And by the way, who does not like books, wine and girl talk once a month!
Greetings! I am excited to join VF & love the fantasy/romance genres. The VF community is so warm, open, and smart. I love the conversations & have learned so much from all of you. Of course, after reading Felicia's book, I am a huge fan of Felicia. Can't wait for the hangout tonight.
Hi everyone,I'm a romance-reading-addict from Australia and I've just (self)published my first contemporary romance last month which was a lot of fun to write.
I read mostly contemporary and occasional paranormal romance, like my books to be a bit steamy, and always love a HEA!
I'm looking forward to joining in discussions. See you all around! Adelaide H.
Hi folks,Everyone calls me Ed. Yes, I'm a guy who writes romance (that shocked a few people who have found my book... LOL!). My 1st published book is romance, comedy, falling in life-long love, partnering for research into real-world "weird" stuff, and yes, sex (later in the book). No relationship angst or dram because I personally get tired of that in a book. I'm working on a series (at least 10 books) because I really like life-long relationships AND the become a team for the research projects. Book 2 in the series is in the works... :-)
My book is recommended by 14 sites and is 5 Star on Amazon & Goodreads. I have a kindle Countdown going on right now. We'll see how that goes...
Authors - good luck to you!!
Readers, hope you find something that "touches" you!!
Ed
Hello everyone! I'm Florence. I'm from Montreal, Canada. I'm an avid book reader. My favorite genre are Urban Fantasy/PNR, Fantasy, Sci-fi and Steampunk. I also enjoy mysteries and romance from time to time.
Currently, my favortie series are Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews (I have a huge crush on Kate... I mean, I like Curran a lot, but I just love Kate!), The Iron Seas by Meljean Brook (Ariq, anyone?) and The Expanse by James S.A. Corey. I'm currently reading the October Dayes series and it's great.
My other hobbies include cooking, gaming and knitting. Also, I'm a crazy cat lady... Lucky for me, my boyfriend is as much cat crazy as I am!
I'm really glad that I found the Vaginal Fantasy Bookclub a few weeks ago. I've watched a few of your hangouts and I think you're all really insightful and funny. Thanks for providing an environment where my favorite books are not weird anymore! ;-D
Florence
My name is Mimi and I have always loved reading. I'm pretty hooked on the Outlander series
I read pretty much everything.
Hi, I'm Lucy and I live in London, UK. I read pretty much everything, but my favourite genres are historical, fantasy, sci-fi and romance. I joined this group a while ago but hadn't got around to introducing myself so I had to rectify that in the new year!
Hey! I'm Lindsay and I have been following Felicia since I saw The Guild in Netflix way back when and completely adored it. After subscribing to her on YouTube, a VF came up which peeked my interest. I haven't followed along reading the books, usually I would miss the announcement of what is being read, or I get the books and don't sit down to read them in time. Instead, I have enjoyed listening to the commentary. Well, New Years Resolution: Read more! And I am including VF in that goal. :)
That being said, I do love to read and the book that has made the greatest impact on my life was Dealing with Dragons by Patricia Wrede. That's when I knew I wanted to create something impactful. It wasn't the first book I picked up with a strong female lead, but it came at a time in my life where I thought women were inherently the damsel. Cimorene is the opposite of a damsel.
I have written a book of my own, Syrin, published through Amazon Kindle, and I'd like to think I am carrying the strong female presence forward in my writing.
I am super excited to begin my first follow along VF session! Already picked up Radiance and am on Chapter Seven. Excited to get the full VF experience. :D
Hi fellow lovers of reading! I am a mum to a beautiful four year old girl, I am studying to be a librarian and my secret passion is sexy paranormal books with hot men and hot sex with a heavy dose of humour! I live in Melbourne Australia, have lived in Scotland not too long ago and managed to snag myself a hot Scot to marry and impregnate me. Though I then dragged him into the scorching heat of my homeland of Oz, so my daughter could enjoy being raised around people that say G'day.
Feel free to connect with me, I would love to be able to find more great recommendations. Urban Paranormal is my go to, but I will read just about anything. Look forward to seeing what this group has to offer!
Well I guess it's time to climb out of the lurking tree.I'm Pien from The Netherlands and I've been a member for about a year now. I first found the hangouts during my many wasted hours lost in a virtual maze, called YouTube. I loved them and they are actually the reason I actively started to use my Goodreads account again and thus rediscovered one of my dearest hobbies reading and visiting the library. Oh and they are the reason I found out about urban fantasy/paranormal romance.
I love a lot of genre's but I'm a sucker for novels in historical settings. In my youth and teens I read a lot of (high) fantasy, but now I rarely pick them up since they are mostly series and I want to save time to read other great books. "So many books, so little time" To make efficient use of my time I usually have an audiobook with me as well when I travel. ;)
In the past year I haven't participated in group reads much, but I mean to remedy that this year, hence the introduction.
Nice to meet you all!
Hi all! I'm Amanda, I'm 25 and I live in the mountains of North Carolina. I'm a web consultant/designer/developer, sex blogger, gamer, all-purpose geek, feminist, cat person, and wife. I'm also getting back into being a reader. I read a ton in my youth, but it got harder to do once I hit puberty and I started spending all of my time on the internet. My New Year's Resolution is to get back to reading regularly, because it's something that makes me feel happy and accomplished, and I think it's teaching me how to focus better!
I just read You're Never Weird on the Internet and it mentioned Vaginal Fantasy at the back of the book, so I said, "Oh man, a book club sounds like a great way to encourage me to read more!" And here I am!
I read just about every genre, but I LOVE fantasy and sci-fi books. Even though I pick up romance books from time to time, I've never been a huge fan of the stereotypical genre of "romance", although I've read some good romance books in the past, and have enjoyed plenty of books that have love and sex in them as well as all the other stuff I look for like elves, wizards, swords, magic, lasers, and hacking.
I'd love to find more enjoyable romance books through this book club, and gain a new appreciation of a genre that I've spent years avoiding because I didn't have many people to discuss them with and didn't like the stereotypes that many romance books perpetuated.
I'm looking forward to reading, talking, learning, and growing with all of you!
Hi everyone !My name's Myriam and I'm from Montreal, a french canadian in love with english litterature :P
I read an insane amount of books and lost my bookworm roommate a few months ago and realised I have no other reading partner. So here I am now, on goodreads, trying to people to talk books with.
I mostly like fantasy, dystopian, sci-fi and romance/coming of age YA. I have phases where I obsess over some themes or authors or re-reading my favorite books, some phase I read less, and some times, like now, where I can read 5-6 books a week...
I hope I'll find a place here where I can maybe read a little less, but discuss what I found good or no good, and read better books because of all the awesome recommendations I'll get !
Hello, everyone. My name is E.T. but I go by Blue Falcon here. I am a bit of a rarity, a male romance novel fan. I have been reading romance novels since I was 8 years old, when I picked up a Harlequin romance from my late mother's collection. Since then, I have read hundreds if not thousands of books in the romance categories. My favorite romance categories are:
Contemporary
Historical
Regency
Western
I also read erotica.
I joined this group to be in contact with like-minded individuals and to learn what other people read and iike.
Hi, everyone! I'm Roxy, I'm 29, & I live in MS. I'm a total book addict. I mostly read scifi, fantasy & YA . I'm technically still a young adult, right?
Hi guys! I've actually been a fan for a while, just took a bit to introduce myself! I found the group through Youtube, and was ecstatic! I love it, and I cannot wait to continue to love it and all you guys!
Hi, my name is Kelly and I live in east Tennessee. I was a sporadic reader when I was younger, which mainly consisted of Star Wars comics and books, and the Sweet Hearts romance books. I have always been an avid gamer that began with an Odyssey 2 (had awesome graphics) and do have a B.S. in Game Art Design and am currently finishing up my MBA.I mainly read science fiction and suspense books now, but I’m interested in reading fantasy/mystery books. I recently joined VF after watching some hangouts on YouTube and really liked the engaging discussions. It felt more spontaneous and way more interesting than one I went to locally. You all have a good time and actually read the books.
I'm Bianca and I currently reside in California. I admin for Drunk Austen and devour books on a daily basis. Stumbled across this group after reading Felicia's book. I read a little of everything, but I was a way into Star Wars as a teen and had no fellow lady-nerds to discuss the stories with. Really glad this group exists to foster good convo and a community that has been much-needed.
Just finished "Uprooted" by Naomi Novik and bummed I missed out on earlier discussion about it.
Hi guys and gals!I'm Leonie from Germany and I've always loved reading. Currently I'm about to finish my B.A. in English and American studies and will hopefully go on to start studying mechanical engineering this year-so exciting!
Nowadays I go through crazy phases of, let's call it binge-reading where I can't find good reads quick enough and phases where I don't read at all.
Ever since I spent a year in New Zealand I got more into reading Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance (Fantasy was always my preferred genre). Apparently I had a lot of time on my hands when I was in High School overseas.
My favourite series is the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews. And basically anything they write. Sadly, I haven't quite found any books or authors that measure up, which is why I joined this group.
My main problem is that I'm getting pretty annoyed by the amount of sex in a lot of UD/PR books. Don't get me wrong a good and steamy sex scene at the right time is everything, but when it gets to the point that there is more sex than plot, I'm out.
So, please, help? :D
Okay, that's it. Nice to meet you all.
Hello everyone, my name is Christopher. I recently started reading the Vorkosigan Saga by Lois McMaster Bujold, and through reading Cordelia's Honor discovered I quite enjoy romance in my science fiction. I'm currently reading the Vorkosigan books and the Skolian Empire books in their respective internal chronological orders. I plan on reading much more romantic science fiction and fantasy.I'm excited to have my eyes opened to a whole world of literature that I never even considered due purely to social expectations.
Hello, everyone! I'm Brittney, I'm 27, and I'm a librarian from Tennessee. I studied English and Library and Information Sciences in college and grad school. I love books and will read anything that has an interesting plot and (ideally) great writing. Lately I've been reading lots of comics, though I also like general fiction, YA, urban fantasy, and romance.I originally joined Vaginal Fantasy years ago but never got into the habit of participating. Hopefully I get it together this time; I'm looking forward to finding fun, smutty new books and making new bookish friends!
Hello Everyone! My name is Jess and I'm a lifelong book worm and nerd. I live in Massachusetts. I love reading novels, comics, graphic novels, basically anything with a fun plot. I love paranormal and urban fantasy books.
I love super heroes and the DC universe.
I also love video games, board games, D&D, cooking and baking, knitting, jewelry making, museums, nail polish, and cats.
I haven't been in a book club since High School so I'm excited to be reading along with everyone and participating.
Hi, my name is David, and I like stories that have wit, heart, snappy dialog, and relationships. I go through phases (mysteries, suspense, romance, etc.) and I am currently reading paranormal and fantasy books with kick-ass heroines. My favorite authors at this moment are Ilona Andrews (Kate Daniels), Michelle Sagara (Elantra series), and J.D. Robb (Eve Dallas). I hope that this club will help me find more authors like these. My mother's Georgette Heyer books got me into romance many years ago.I have loved words all my life, leading to a long career as a high school speech teacher and debate coach and the last decade as a college speech instructor. I love excellent language use in books, but - by itself - it is not enough. John LeCarre is a master of language, but his stories always left me depressed. I need relatively happy endings.
Hi! I'm Francesca, and I'm from England. I live just outside of London. My first introduction to Felicia Day was as Charlie in Supernatural, and I basically just fell in love then and there. Since then I've been a huge fan.My favourite genres to read (or watch) are horror, fantasy, and sci-fi, even though I read a wide range of everything. Romance is generally my least favourite genre and I don't know if it's because I'm just too fussy with it or because I've just had bad luck with the ones I've picked to read, but I'm trying to expand my horizons a bit more. I know I'm not an anti-romance person, I'm not a cynical person, and I know that I can enjoy romance (or even love it, sometimes) so I thought this group might help me to find ones that I will actually enjoy.
Hi I'm Mikki from Philippines. I love reading romance books from historical to paranormal romance. Recently I've been widening my perspective with regards to reading other genre, just last year I started with self-help and personal finance books, and I discovered then that it was enjoyable to read other genre other than romance and YA books. Hoping that I can connect with other avid readers in this group with the same interest as I have and get to know more people and discover more books that I haven't yet discovered.
Hi all, I have been a member for almost a month. I am a writer from Kansas. I have a Sci-Fi book on Amazon and a Romance in with a publisher (fingers crossed), so I am writing my third. I have two kids and I foster my nephew. I am looking forward to the discussion threads and the next webcast!
OMG! I can't believe I didn't know this group was here! I need to have so many words with my friends!I've been following Felicia around since the Guild days. That there is a group of other folks who love sexy, strong, female leads in fantasy & sci-fi - SQUEE!
Ok, calming down now.
Hi - I'm JD, bookaholic and sci-fi/fantasy fan for as long as I could read. I've been reading Urban Fantasy since the name was coined and crossed over into Paranormal Romance shortly thereafter. I love history, horror and all kinds of kinky stuff. I discovered this group actually due to the number of reads of Cthulhurotica that were linked to vaginal-fantasy bookshelves.
I recently started to write paranormal erotica, primarily in an alternative Lovecraftian 1930s. If you've ever seen the movie To Cast a Deadly Spell, you'll get the idea (though that's 1950s based).
So thrilled to meet so many other people that share the same book loves that I do!
- JD
Hello everyone, my name is Cassandra, from the UK. I stumbled across this group on you tube, through my watching of Supernatural. Being a great appreciator of Felicia's work on the show. That opened up a world of things to explore especially with reading her book and becoming aware of just how much she has done.Book wise, there is no single genre that I'm tied to. But I've always been into reading. Not sure if that was down to being a only child for nine years. The peace and independence. Or that I've struggled to figure out my own tastes as I've grown up. Still haven't figured out the identity of myself. Books being a great escape and playground, to discover. Be it what I like or don't. The best ones can draw you into it's plot so much that you are gripped by the experiences. Even if their not your own. Also, as you grow and change you can still read and discover something you previously didn't take notice of. Or like.
So, science fiction would defiantly be probably my first choice. Though any book I would give a go. But any shows I watch are basically that genre. I always appreciate a book no matter how good the writing is, or story etc.. But as I read more of Science fiction. I found myself getting annoyed by what your own imagination would/could add. So that fueled me wanting to write my own. Which is no where near finished yet. But perhaps one day. An author I randomly came across in a second hand book store is Kathy Reichs, the title 'Deadly Decisions' which grabbed my attention. Now, I have every damn book. But that's something I love about reading. A chance purchase can result in finding you were missing out on something.
I have bent towards the popular book choices or crazes, But very rarely. Twice that I recall.. Firstly for the twilight series of books. Which allured me cause, Its vampires. Secondly, 50 shades of grey. More so cause people that surrounded me were all going on about it. I wondered what all the fuss was about, as these people I'd never known to read a newspaper. Let alone a whole book.
Vaginal Fantasy - Got to love the name. Such a range of different types of plots. Such a mixture. Enjoyed looking back on discussions for previous reads.
Apologies for the longest intro I've ever done, usually I cower away from these!
- Cassandra
Lindsay wrote: "Hi Jamie! What are your books?"I write under a pen name Elisabeth Hayes. My SciFi book 1 is "Meeting Mezzanotte" on Amazon. I have a romance in option with a publisher and I'm working on the sequel to the SciFi now. I may have already answered this, but I can't find where and so I'm posting again.
Hi, I'm Tamara. I'm a literature student, a quidditch enthusiast, and I love to always speak in sets of three. I write short stories, but am an incredibly slow writer and harsh self-editor. I'm awful at writing introductions, so instead will leave you with this little factoid - I used to work in a library many years a go that housed the A to C author archives and as a result I have read every single Barbara Cartland "novel". It was an... experience to say the least.
:)
Hey :) I'm Kit, and I've been lurking for a while (I wanted to have joined in with the books for a few months before writing anything). I actually stopped reading any sort of romantic book for ages before coming across this group, because I was fed up with a good plot idea suddenly just being a predictable love triangle of swooning and pining, but I've really enjoyed the picks so far. I admit that it was the fact that one of the previous picks had been 'Tipping the Velvet', which is one of my favourite books, that made me want to give this a go.
Anyway, it's lovely to meet you all!
So, I guess I posted in the wrong section. Sorry. But my name is Jamie. I'm 27, years old, I love to read, and do some creative writing. I'm a licensed nail technician. Right now I'm currently looking for a new job. My favorite TV shows are, supernatural, once upon a time, stickers, and Baby Daddy.
Hi everyone,I'm Carien and I'm from the Netherlands.
I read a lot of UF, PNR, SFF and have a weakness for stories with zombies. I'm always on the lookout for new (to me) books and authors, and I love talking about books, so I decided join this group.
Hello all, my name is Aden Lewis and I am a new author. With my first book Heart of the Pride
of the Fur, Lust & Magic series. I will have the second one out by the end of April. I co-author these books with my friend Mary Leihsing.
Hey everyone! My name is Ariel and I'm new to the group. It's great to find a fun bunch of people with the same love of romance novels. I actually just published my first in a trilogy: Cities of Rust, for anyone who enjoys a steamy romance set in the middle of the zombie apocalypse. It's available as an eBook on Amazon, if you'd like to check it out! :)
Hi everyone! After lurking on YouTube and Goodreads for a while I decided to bite the bullet and join! My name's actually Karen, but I'm listed on Google+ as Shaitarn, so it picked that name for me! I'll answer to either. I'm primarily a fantasy reader (you can find me at Sword & Laser as well), but will also pick up a historical (alternative or realistic), horror or sci-fi novel from time to time. I can't promise I'll appreciate every pick, but I'll happily give most of them a go, and I'd like to thank this group for persuading me to give urban fantasy another go!
Hey guys!I'm Johanna, 35, from Sweden. A fantasyreader from my early school years, but at some point I stopped reading new stuff. Kept re-reading Robert Jordan and Terry Pratchett when I wanted fantasy books. And seeing as I'm the only one intrested in reading these kinds of books... yeah well it kinda just stalled.
Anyway, after having binged a few eps I got myself to the library and fell in love with Kushiel's Dart. I'm catching up with the hangout eps before I allow myself to even consider reading (and watching) along with the current books. I'm disvovering new books along the way even if I can't partake in any discussions yet, but I will. :)
Hi, I'm Ellie,I've only recently started watching the VF videos, as I'm usually not into romance at all, but tend to read quite a lot of fantasy.
The series I've been reading lately has a very weak/unrealistic romance sub-plot and it really made me feel like I needed some believable romance in my (literary) life. I then remembered that Felicia Day was involved in this book club, and here I am, hoping to give the fantasy romance genre a chance!
Looking forward to discussing with all of you.
