You have to remember that Bookaholism is like any addiction - you are never cured. For the rest of your life you will always be a recovering bookaholic.

Unfortunately it also means I now have more points which I must resist spending :0)

I sold a couple of books I own too! I'd like to think it does kind of make it ok :)
I've got 7 more books of my own to go, but I have to admit I do cheat with library books.. Finally all 12 books I'd ordered arrived, and I put them on my bookshelf today. Every time I look at it I get this huge grin on my face!
I had a gift certificate for Borders, so I bought a book recently, thinking that I still had the full amount shown on the certificate. Unfortunately, it turned out that it was less than $5, but I bought the book anyhow, which is The Elegance of the Hedgehog. I started to read it, but then I stopped. I feel too depressed and think it would be better to wait until I feel stronger. The book was recommended by a few people I know.
I rarely buy books anymore, unless they are nonfiction. A few years ago, I was bitterly disappointed by one of the novels that I bought during a buy-2 get-1 free sale at Borders. I thought the book was horrible and so I vowed never to buy any more novels, even by authors whose work I usually enjoy. I have broken my vow a couple of times since then, but I kept my promise for a really long time. I bought one novel as a present for a friend.
The only other book I bought for myself fairly recently was The Time Traveler's Wife, which I thought was sad. I bought it for my birthday last October.
I think it's better to order books from the library or borrow/get them from friends. I don't have a job currently so I have to watch my spending. If you really like the book so much that you want to read it again, then buy it.
I envy those of you with enough disposable income to buy books, even if you buy them at Half Price Books.

I'm not allowed to buy anymore books... after this weekend. There's a sale going on at Booksamillion... and I've really been meaning to pick up Let the Right One In and Room.
I think i'm hopeless. And you know having all of these TBR books around actually makes me a little anxious.

I just went into the local book shop to look, I swear to you. I did realise it wasn't wise but I just wanted to look and anyway I have to buy some new books for the library so it was really for work....
Well I walked through the door and there was Shades of Grey singing its siren song from the shelf and I have wanted it for so long and I was tired and a little hungry and I didn't have any strength to resist...
And the book shop was doing a 1+1 deal so I got The Help as well!!

More books then shelves - problems! Where do I put these things and how am I to find them later if they're all ov..."
Pile them up on every horizontal surface then buy boxes and store them under the sofa, the bed, the TV.
Don't ask me how I know!!
