And I'll get to add that satisfying number. I honestly don't even know what it's about, other than brothers, but everyone raves...
Oh it's SOOOOOO good. You'll love it, I think. And if you don't, send it back and I'll send you another! :)
I'm not sending it back, but I will owe you another, now, because of O & C, so I will need to peruse your lists....
trading books with y'all is fun. Maybe I should post a list of the better things I'm giving away to see if anyone wants to do trades...lol.

Kandice - This is one of my All Time Favorite books. It is not a quick read in the easy-James Patterson sense, but it is intense and it will grab you early and hard. Let me know what you think !! Amy
Amy, you're right. It definitely opens with a shocker... It's such a touching book. I know you'll love it Kandice!
Allison wrote: "trading books with y'all is fun. Maybe I should post a list of the better things I'm giving away to see if anyone wants to do trades...lol."Write the list, Allison. I'll bring my shopping bags! ;)

haha, there are a tooon of old Victoria Holt and Phillipa Gregory books, do you read those? I read them in HS I think.
You Suck A Love Story
Mistress of the Art of Death
The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher Murder and the Undoing of a Great Victorian Detective
The Blind Assassin
The Omnivore's Dilemma
Two for the Dough
Hot Six
Object Lessons
A Conspiracy of Paper
Abundance A Novel of Marie Antoinette
...that is all I remember at the moment. None of it is that great...I haven't read some of it, just trying to make room on the shelves!
Ooh... I do want to read some of those... Mistress of the art of death, The Omnivores dilemma, You Suck, Abundance... Where's my cart??
I purchased 4 last week, and have had a couple loaned to me. I've had some incoming today, but they were gifts. All of these are for the Challenge. I'm sure I can be good for a couple of months now. (She said hopefully.)
I want to read You Suck, but I detested the Blind Assasin. I will send it back if you want, Becky, but after I'm through!!!!!
Kandice wrote: "You know she is. Perhaps this thread should be retitled "I will only buy books when I have a good excuse reason"."I totally agree. I think we should strive to be better, not perfect. As long as we cut down on how many books we buy, that should be OK...right?
I got my Amazon package with The Good Earth and Provence A-Z and I bought a larger copy of The Fouintainhead (which I believe we already decided was OK since I'm not adding to my net titles). I think I'm good for a while, although if I get another 40% off coupon or some Borders bucks...
Awww! You're welcome... I'm glad you like it! Aren't I a sneaky girl though? I gave you three right back! MWAHAHAHA!! ;)
Hehehe... I laughed maniacally as I wrapped it up... It was too perfect, since you had them on your TBR. ;)
Ooh! My boyfriend just texted me at work to tell me I got a big box of books! YAY! I'm so excited! (And what perfect timing!) Allison, Thank You, thank you, thank you! :D

Good... I'm so glad you like them. I might actually shift around my spring reading list to fit TGDT in. I've read the 1st and 2nd, but I want to read the 3rd really bad!

I can´t believe I´m going to add a tbr book in the "must-not-uy-more-books" thread hahaha that´s ironic
Kandice wrote: "I am feeling a little jealous! Now I have to send someone a big box of books!!!!!!!!!!!"hehe :) well Becky sent me 3 in 1...when I opened it I was like Holy Geez what did she send me, the Bible??
hahaha.
Becky wrote: "Mwahahaha! I couldn't let you off that easily, Allison. We're even-steven now! ;)"I am still so excited! I can't wait to read them.
Just want to say I am LOVING True. I have my door closed at work today because I am contagious, and would normally not do this, but keep reading a page here and there. (since I probably wont get caught) Thank you tons!
Me too... I'm not even supposed to GR at work, but I can't help myself... and so here I am... Sneaking shifty eye looks over my shoulder every 2 seconds. And my desk is REALLY out in the open. Grrr!
Becky wrote: "Me too... I'm not even supposed to GR at work, but I can't help myself... and so here I am... Sneaking shifty eye looks over my shoulder every 2 seconds. And my desk is REALLY out in the open. Grrr!"ditto exactly! I have to switch off constantly
Well, really, no one cares what we do on the computer, because we can have multiple screens up, but actually reading abook at my desk feels sinful! I delegated a lot, so am really just here so I am not out sick!!! I have a HUGE question, so I am going to message you Becky. Don't want to spoil anything...
God! I hate only being able to get on, like, once a month. THIS SUCKS!But besides that...
THIS IS DAY 59
Two months tomorrow. May just get to reward myself soon. =-)
Hope everyone is doing great with their book bans.
Well, today is Day 1 for me. I was crushed by the wagon. You can probably see my corpse lying in the dust.I must say that it's been worth it. I've bought 7 books from Amazon recently. I'm not going to beat myself over the money because I have my summer job lined up.
According to my to-read list I have 79 books that I bought and haven't read yet. So I can't buy any new ones. Some of those I bought in 2005. I have already stopped buying 3-4 books every week for almost a year now. It's been sort of easy since I am saving up for a car. But I have more books on my to buy lists than I have to read. So I will pledge."I promise to abstain from purchasing new books until my to-be-read pile is looking more respectable and I must read the books I already own!"
And that will be only when I have none left to read. Which should be some time next year...

Fiona, you're right of course... I just have a hard time imagining that any culture would raise up the standard of walking by someone in need. *sigh*
